Dear Drugs-Forum readers: We are a small non-profit that runs one of the most read drug information & addiction help websites in the world. We serve over 3 million readers per month, and have costs like all popular websites: servers, hosting, licenses and software. To protect our independence we do not run ads. We take no government funds. We run on donations which average $25. If everyone reading this would donate $5 then this fund raiser would be done in an hour. If Drugs-Forum is useful to you, take one minute to keep it online another year by donating whatever you can today. Donations are currently not sufficient to pay our bills and keep the site up. Your help is most welcome. Thank you.
Ok, here's the deal. I got a referral to a specialist at a pain management clinic from my spine specialist and I'm seeing him in 5 days. I'm prescribed 5mg percocets 4 times a day. It takes about 30mg of oxycodone to make my pupils contract back to normal. I have to only be taking my prescribed amount because I'm pretty sure I'm going to get drug tested from what people have told me. Do you think 5 days is enough time to be able to go in that morning on only 5mg oxycodone and not look sick? I've been looking for legal help for my pain for a while now and I really don't want to ruin this. Also I've been doing other opioids, mainly fentanyl and Hydromorphone, but I'm going stop starting now. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
5 days? Yeah, but you'll probably feel like crap leading up to it.
Can you do a quick taper with the Percocet? Stop using anything else, then, I dunno, do 50mg (total) one day, 40mg the next, etc until you're at 20mg for the day?
It's hard to say, because sometimes they just do a quick dipstick test, sometimes they send it for more confirmatory testing to check your levels. However, everyone metabolises things differently, so if you're ABOUT in range, you should be okay even if they do check levels.
You could always take a little more that morning if you feel you look awful.
BTW, you shouldn't been on fucking PERCOCET for chronic pain. Short-acting opioids like that for round the clock pain treatment is just BEGGING for addiction. Too many peaks & troughs in your serum levels. You need a long-acting opioid, like methadone, or OxyContin, or Opana ER. Hell, even MS Contin (morphine).
With some luck, if the pain clinic takes you on, they'll sort your meds out better. Percocet was never meant to be taken long-term.
I was just prescribed the percocet a few days ago until I could see the pain clinic. I was pushing off seeing my specialist until recently because I was afraid he would push getting surgery. But, I won't lie, I don't just take them for my back.

Also, I'm planning on catchin a little buzz one more time tonight and then just taking 20mg of oxycodone before trying to go to sleep (I've had terrible sleeping problems since before I did drugs) up until a couple days before the visit. After that I'll just be taking the 5mg 4 times a day. Do you think I'll be set if I do that?

Also, does excerise help shorten the withdrawal period? I try to bike at least 10 miles while on opiates/opioids, and I drink a lot of water. Will this help with withdrawal though if I can manage to push through the pain? Can this be dangerous? Sorry for all the posts. Thanks for your reply!
