Culture - Getting the most out of a trip (LSD trip toys)

What are the ideal "toys" (like music and certain objects or colors that are made more interesting with psychedelics) and what are ideal activities to try to get the most out of a trip? Also, is there any specific thing for SWIM to eat or drink that improves the trip or tastes better when SWIM is trippin'?
Last but not least, SWIM is wondering if there is an effective way to store LSD (and shrooms, if anyone has any information).

Obviously music is a necessity but other fun trip toys can range from glowsticks to crayons to lava lamps. Depends on how the trip goes I suppose. Chocolate tastes pretty nice during a trip in regards to eating. LSD should be wrapped in foil and stored in a refrigerator. Mushrooms should be dried out, wrapped, then stored in a refrigerator.

Music is a must. Video games can be fun as can movies but it depends on what you want to get out of the trip. They could distract you from the trip and confuse you.

SWIM loves drinking water while he is tripping or something refreshing like gatorade or lemonaid. SWIM also likes to eat chocolate candy bars and chew bubble gum. Listening to music with headphones can really help you zone out. Strobe lights add a nice effect but sometimes they make you trip out way too hard.

SWIM recommends wrapping lsd up in foil and putting the foil in a baggie or some kind of air tight container. If you cannot put the cid in the freezer, just make sure to keep it away from any source of heat that might degrade it.

Shrooms need to be cracker dry before storing them. If you purchased the shrooms then they should be pre-dried. If this is the case, put then in an air tight container in the freezer with a pack of dessicant so to keep them dry.

Clouds, buddy, clouds. That's where all the fun is at. SWIM absolutely is AMAZED by the swirly, whispy funneling motion of clouds when he is tripping.
For things to play with, depends on the trip really. SWIM was REALLY enjoying himself as he crumbled up dried leaves into leaf dust, and ripping grass out of the ground and smushing it in his hands. This was a pretty amazing sensation.

Never had the chance, but I would imagine looking into neat glass marbles/egg shaped paperweights with the swirly colored stuff on the inside would be pretty amazing. Possibly get sucked into it if you're tripping good enough.

But for getting the most out of your trip.. depends on your mood, setting, who you're with, what you'll be doing, etc. To get the best out of your trip it should be a beautiful day when you jump out of bed with a smile, saying to yourself "I'm ready for this, and it's going to be an amazing trip!"
Those times are always the best trips.

Just make sure you're in a relaxed, comfortable place: setting and mood-wise.

SWIM is probably going to be tripping with a friend, and he was wondering if it is easy to change a CD while tripping. Also, how long after ingesting the LSD would it be safe for SWIM to walk back along the highway (10 minutes from SWIM's house)?

what i always advice to people is ... don't talk!

if this is your first time, you probably will be talking - wich is good. but keep my advice in mind - and one day have a sitting where noone talks - no mind constructs - no ideas - no questions - just acid in your brain ...

for the music - yes it is fun to have music - but remeber not to draw any unwanted attention from unwanted people when you play your bommbox outside of your house. when people come over to ask what you are doing. have an answer prepared ...

I recommend headphones as you won't want to draw any attention as Mooth said. Changing CDs shouldn't be a problem whilst tripping unless you have a very complicated player. Walking along the highway should be relatively safe as well on a single dose. I wouldn't recommend crossing heavy traffic but I'm sure you'll know your limits at the time.

Yea just be in nature as much as possible, nice places with not many people are great. You can turn on the visualizer on your computer's music player or on the xbox for some crazy colors.

Another cool thing to do is, if you have an alarm clock like mine, turn on the nature sounds that are supposed to help you get to sleep. Mine has brook, forest, and jungle-- I always end up sitting in the dark with the Jungle setting blasting as loud as it can go. I guess you could use any of those nature sounds cds too.

I also recommends keeping silent during a trip, and a mp3 player with headphones, packed with tunes designed for tripping.

Speaking or even listening to someone talk, keeps you from going deeper into the experience. At best a few words of wisdom can direct a trip into a very meaningful place in your head. Words can also invoke you to go places you rather not go to. Especially if a person is new to psychedelics.

I don't necessarily agree with the no talking thing. It's good if you want a very spaced-out, sincere trip but where's the fun? SWIM's had some of the most hilarious conversations of his life while tripping on acid. He laughs so hard that his abdomen aches the next day.

SWIJ is with NBL on his last point. For her one of the joys of LSD is the "rolling round on the floor, tears streaming down cheeks with laughter" moment. It's like SWIJ is a child again, when things were funny and fabulous and uncomplicated (and generally filled with wonder). When the world was shiny new and gorgeous. That is what restores her. To achieve this she recommends being with people who SWIY adores and loves and accepts (in all their guises).

On a similar vein to Nahbus: Trees. That's where it's at. The way the light filters through the leaves and the way the wind rushes and ripples, the way they look against the sky, the way SWIY never realised that there were quite so many different shades of green (or red/gold, depending on season).

Make sure SWIY is dressed appropriately. Being cold on acid sucks.
