Hi friends.

There are many different types all over Vancouver Island and all the gulf islands up there. I have had luck picking cyans all througout the area. The islands you are talking about are further north and alot more colder. On Vancouver Island we had always had to wait for around and after the first frosts to come in, but not always. You can go to either Vancouver or Seattle and have no problems finding them in the cities even! Az |

kindof new to mushroom hunting. there aren't any cow fields around here (nova scotia). people have been saying that you can find mushrooms in the woods pretty easily after a morning frost or good rain. where in the woods should i look? is it hard to find mushrooms in the woods? |

Best thing to do is search for which mushrooms grow in your area/climate. Then once you know what psychodelic mushrooms grow there, you can find out where the specifically grow and what they look like. This helps alot, but never take any mushrooms you pick yourself until you are 100% without a doubt postive on the ID of them.
This is not a source, just a helpful website( i dont think this is illegal but if it is let me know)- www.magic-mushrooms.net they have a huge archive of pictures and information on pretty much every psychadelic mushroom there is. They also provide alot of information on how to dry them and store them ect. |

As Ihrthalucingens said, make sure you identify the mushrooms. Study some pictures of the different strains of mushrooms and be aware that some are dangerous. There are some mushrooms that can kill you if even a small amount is consumed. Erowid has a nice photo collection of psychoactive mushrooms. Some sites include details descriptions on psychoactive mushrooms, as well as the mushrooms that can/will kill you.

Also dont just ID them by comparing to the picture, there are tons of look alikes and such. Take a spore print, its the only way to be (somewhat) positive. Also check to see where it grew, ex. what kind of tree it grew under, what it was growing out of. This will also help you make an accurate ID.

What all them said.
Get a good field guide, learn how to make a spore print, don't just go from pictures. A lot of the time, a shroom will look different than the picture in the guide, and just about all of the psilocybin mushrooms have poisonous look-alikes. I would strongly advise going with someone experienced the first few times you go mushroom hunting. |

Pan subbs is what you'll want to look for... make sure to pick up a good
guide (or take someone experienced). P. silvatica is a fall shroom. I don't know about G. viridans. |
