Gonna try to make a pipe from glass egg

You know those glass egg paperweight things, with the swirls inside?
SWIM wants to hollow one out, carve in a bowl and a carb and turn it into a pipe. Is the swirl material safe for smoke? SWIM ideally wants a small clear egg shaped solid glass paperweight, hollow out half of it, coming to a point for the mouthpeice, having a hole going all the way through with the bowl carved on the second, unhollowed half (if ya catch my drift?). Anyway, just seeing if SWIM can't find a clear glass one, would it be unsafe to use one with the metal/glass dye swirly stuff on the inside (then again, it could all be carved out, but SWIM wants to be sure)
Anyway, what do you think?
(hopefully when it's hollow it won't be too heavy)
