Snorting and the Lungs

When a person insufflates/snorts any kind of powder does any debris from the powder make it inside the lungs? Can snorting drugs cause lung damage? SWIM was curious about this after having to snort massive amounts of powder from crushing up three 30 mg oxycodones (blue beans) because good ole Oxy Contin is on the decline.
