63 years ago today, Albert Hofmann deliberately ingested 250mics of LSD after discovering it three days previously. Anybody doing anything to celebrate?

Tripped very nicely on 4-20.
Took 12 hits of some decent blotter acid from the U.K. somewhere.
Have a much better understanding of "Clear White Light" and can only hope that Lucy doesn't go back into hiding on me anytime soon.
For a world so desperately in need LSD, it gets harder and harder to find.

In the spirit of Bicycle Day, I remembered a cool article I read on Erowid awhile back proposing that the discovery of LSD's psychedelic properties was not preceded by the accidental ingestion of LSD, but was rather a spontaneous mystical experience. Due to the unlikely mode of absorption, short duration of experience, and a prior spontaneous mystical experience Hofmann had experienced as a child, this seems to be a possibility (and the author notes, interestingly enough, that he mentioned this to Albert Hofmann at one point to get his thoughts, and Hofmann felt it was certainly possible). We may never know for sure, but it is still intriguing to ponder the roots of the discovery of this amazing molecule. SWIM did not have time on bicycle day to go on an adventure with lucy but he did Smoke more g-13 than he could handle for 4/20. SWIMdid the best celebrating of acids birthday that he could without actually taking it. its rare to hear the words "I smoked too much" leave swim's mouth.
