5-MeO-DiPT Effects and Ratings Survey Results

Attached should be a zipped file with 5 files in it that contain the data on 5-MeO-DiPT gathered from the recent survey project on largely unresearched compounds.

This project consisted of posting 28 surveys for about 60 days at 6 different internet discussion boards. 25 of the surveys received at least one response in that time. There were a total of 701 responses to all of the surveys with 5-MeO-DPT receiving the fewest responses (2) and 2C-I receiving the most (123). 11 surveys received 25 or more responses and probably give a somewhat reliable overview of the compounds in question.
There are 3 different types of surveys. The Phenethylamines, the Tryptamines, and the DOB-DFLY survey. The phenethylamine and tryptamine surveys are almost identically with 2 exceptions; the tryptamine surveys have an additional item labeled x01 and a freeform response at the end. The DOB-DFLY survey has numerous additional sections etc. due to it being a later addition. Despite these differences, each subsection should allow for apples to apples comparisons. The only real difference in the data might be a slightly higher skip rate on section 5 with regard to the phenethylamines, though looking at the actual data the difference appears to be minimal if any.

What was looked at across all surveys was 1. What people thought of the compound overall, 2. What people thought about the general pleasurableness of the compound, 3. What people thought about the general stimulant/sedative tendencies of the compound, 4. What people reported in the way of ‘primary effects,’ 5. What people reported in the way of ‘side effects,’ and 6. The number of times people reported taking a given compound.

For items 1, 2, & 3 a ‘score’ can be worked out.

For the overall rating one can either calculate the % of persons that consider the compound ‘worthwhile’ by adding the number of persons reporting ‘B,’ ‘A,’ and ‘A+’ and dividing by the total number of persons answering that item; or one can calculate an ‘average rating’ by giving a score of 6 to every ‘A+,’ 5 to every ‘A,’ 4 to every ‘B,’ 3 to every ‘C,’ 2 to every ‘D,’ 1 to every ‘E,’ and 0 to every ‘F’ (the results then divided by the number of total respondents).

For the overall pleasure direction one simply assigns a weighted score to the responses according to the value to the left (i.e. +3, +2, +1, 0, -1, -2, -3) and divides by the total number of responses. A net positive score indicates a compound that is reportedly more positive and a net negative score indicates a compound that is reportedly more negative. A score close to or at 0 indicates a compound that is not very particularly prone one way or another with regard to pleasurable experiences (it could have no discernable ‘push’ or it could be equally prone toward pleasurable or disconcerting experiences).

The overall energy direction is calculated much the same as the overall pleasure direction, with the difference being that the results will show the overall tendency of the compound toward stimulation or sedation. If the net score is positive it indicates a trend toward stimulation, if the net score is negative it indicates a trend toward sedation. If the score is close to or at 0 it indicates that a compound is not particularly prone toward one direction or the other (this could mean neither stimulation nor sedation or it could indicate that people are more or less equally prone to the experience of either).

Compound specific discussion.

5-MeO-DiPT is a tryptamine that was originally billed as sexual enhancer by Shulgin, but that many people took in order to get more traditional psychedelic effects. While it became popular enough to get scheduled/controlled/outlawed in several countries, there is still not a vast amount of information on this compound (though Erowid now has over 200 reports on this compound). There were two dozen responses to this particular survey.

Looking at the data here, 50% of respondents considered the material ‘worthwhile.’

The overall average pleasure score is +0.83 or in between ‘Neutral’ and ‘Pleasant.’

The respondents generally reported that this is a noticeably stimulating compound with a stimulation score of +1.41 or in between ‘Slightly Stimulating’ and ‘Moderately Stimulating.’ While there was a notable trend toward stimulation, some did report a more neutral or sedating character.

‘Tactile Enhancement’ was reported by 77.3% of respondents. 50% reported ‘Sexual Feelings / Enhancement / or Pronounced Sexual Imagery.’ Of note is the fact that 40.9% or respondents reported ‘Notable Auditory Effects.’

The most commonly reported side-effect for this compound was ‘General Physical Discomfort,’ with 45.5% of respondents reporting it. 4.5% reported ‘Severe Adverse Reaction.’ 4.5% of respondents checked the ‘No appreciable side effects what so ever’ item.

Like most other compounds surveyed, the most frequently reported number of uses was 2-5 times (45.5%). People reported usage ranging from 1-20 times.

There were the following freeform items:

“Most of the initial enjoyable aspects of the drug disappeared after repeat usage. High-dose or high-frequency use both left me with moderate-severe HPPD lasting weeks to months”

“20mg dose gives a LSD like affect but has very bad side effects feelings of racing heart, nervouseness, tremors confused body temp(hot, cold, hot, cold) sweating teeth grindingfear of dying, thinkning you are dying. This high of a dose not recomended 8 to 12 is a perfect dose for my self and anyone I have ever done it with”

“I did approx. 4 or 5 low to moderate doses of this in 2000. After the last dose I felt "off" emotionally and mentally for several weeks. It was an interesting chemical but not a pleasant one.”

“The next best thing after acid and 'shrooms. Great to go party on. For an interospective night at home, though -- this is not the drug for that.”

“Sounds changed pitch. Peoples voices were periodically distorted in pitch. It made my friend physically ill for ~8h.”

“Experienced very unpleasant twitching and muscle contraction, lasting for 1-2 hours. Even at low doses(7.5mg) this aspect dominated the experiences. Only tried oral once(7.5mg) and smoked freebase three times(10-20mg). Substance is of little value to me, but none of my friends have reported the same symptoms.”

“Drug produced intense audio distortion that was actually different that DiPT. 5-MeO-DiPT produced 'linier' distortions, while DiPT produced completely unliniar distortions.”

excellent shit... loved it back then still do today... shame this one is gone... visual not too great... high fantastic... good energy and headspeace... the bodyload is a bit much at times... up to 35 good compound... no hangover excellent afterglow... sleep not necessary... audio distortion at higher doses

and i must say that it is one of the most exciting tryptamines i have ever taken, and i only took about 10mgs.

SWIM is right there with SWIFatal. One of SWIMs all time favorites. SWIM likes 5meomipt as much, but it is different, and does not have the strong tactile stimulation that 5meoDIPT does. Too bad SWIM cannot ever taste this one again since it is illegal in SWIM's world. It is also perishable. When SWIM was running low, the product had already lost a significant amount of potency at room temp.(2yrs 50% loss - HCl). It combined fantastically with DPT and a touch of BZP or other stimulant.

This brings back memories.
SWIM use to use that stuff years ago all the time. It eventually became a problem (along with other substances) which lead to inpatient.

SWIM used to do 45mg-60mg every 2-3 days.
The highest dose SWIM took was 100mg.

5-MeO-DiPT has a HUGE bodyload to it, that's for sure.
