Acrylic Bongs: Good? Bad?

So my girl is obsessed with an acrylic bong but i thought acrylic piece were bad for your health.... i dont want to buy something for her that is bad for her health. I told her i would ask you guys and get an answer before we decided what too do. So my question is are acrylic bongs and pieces worse for your health or is this just another rumor?

As long as the bowl isn't acrylic... meaning, you don't wanna smoke the acrylic ... but as the base to hold water, no problem. Glass is the best way to go... easier to clean, better looking, hand-craft artistic.....
