Injecting - IV cocaine: Clonazepam dangerous for comedown?

SWIM mainlined some coke and wanted to know if taking some clonozepam to get to sleep would be dangerous?

SWIM advises to give it some time for the coke to ease its way out of SWIY's system, and after that, a small amount of clonazepam may help. HOWEVER SWIM knows very little about how mainlining coke could differ from snorting it, so SWIY may just want to wait until it wears out of your system or until someone can offer a more expert opinion than SWIM. SWIM has used benzodiazepines to fall asleep after taking coke, but it was always insufflated. Anyone with more experience in this field want to step in and offer advice? (SWIM is too tired to think of pharmacology right now and how the two drugs could interact, if at all)

The answer to your question is yes it would be dangerous. The interaction of the two drugs would be considered a "speedball" (mixing an upper and a downer) and would put great stress on your heart.

SWIM mainlined coke for the first time last night. A couple hours after the last hit, SWIM took 1 CC of nubain and a trazadone. Is that considered a speedball and is this as dangerous as a clonozepam? SWIM felt great after waking up and thought this was a good combo, but is not experienced in mainlining or speedballs. Any advice would be appreciated.

Also... SWIMs friend said mainlining was a stupid thing to do because of not knowing what the coke was cut with and that injecting it is more dangerous than insufflating. Any thoughts on that?

The only reason injecting it would be more dangerous than insufflating would be injecting too much. The risk of injecting the cut is minimal because typically the coke dissolves in the water and the cut is left behind. If the user sucks it up using a cotton ball filter, none of the cut would be in the rig.

Everytime SWIM IV's coke he comes down with some Xanax or a nice shot of H, however, he is experienced in these things and knows his dosages. If one does not know his body and proper dosing it could be potentially fatal. Definitely wait for the effects of the last shot of coke to subside a bit before taking any benzo.
