SWIM needs to know how other SWIMS dry fresh peyote buttons

- dry fresh peyote buttons out properly?SWIMS drying them in an airy place thats dark and the buttons are wrapped in plain paper is this the right way to do it?any suggestions?, does heat affect or destroy the mescaline? SWIMS pretty sure that light decreases the ammount of mescaline in the skin,he's also pretty sure that too much water before you harvest the buttons from those hughe weird roots!, affect potecy as well, but hes not sure about drying them?!any suggestion PLEASE!?thanks peace out -dr/a-

Traditionally, they would let them sit in the hot sun for a day or two (from what I've read).

I hear putting them in the oven at 150 F for a few hours will dry them out without effecting potency.

From what I can tell, mescaline is unefected by temperatures below boiling point (212 F), so, 150 should most likely leave a nice cushion for the other alkaloids as well.

I donīt know about Peyote, but Trichos, cut in pieces, start to mold very easy. I would not wrap them in paper since this could favor molds. Sufficient airflow will prevent mold.
