Nitrous From dentist?

Swim has an appointment in a few weeks. He also just had his tonsils out a couple weeks ago. If working on routine work will they use nitrous if swim 'appear' to still be in pain from the tonsilectomy? If swim still taking medicine for pain for tonsil/throat pain? If not how could Swim get nitrous or incease his chances at the dentist?

swsim understand he can easily purchase whippets.
