Question adderall/ritalin, dr. call in?

hey, i was wondering, for those of you with prescriptions to adderall or ritalin, do your doctors call them in for you, or do you have to physically pick up the prescription (signed paper) and then take them to the pharmacy. i live in a different city from my dr. and have to wait the 4-5 days for them to mail it to me. just wondering if this is normal or just my dr. being anal. i dont see why they can't just call it in and ask the pharm to ID me when i get the prescription

You might not be able to call in a script like that since it is controlled and highly abused....

yeah but it seems like it'd be a lot easier for someone to steal my prescription from my mailbox than to fake being me at the pharm when they ask for my ID

oh well

Since theyre both schedule II controlled substances in the US, I think you have to have a physical piece of paper when you go in, it can't just be phoned.

forthesevenlakes is right. they cannot call in any of the following: ritalin, dexadrine, adderall, oxycodone (OC's, percocets, oxyIR, etc.), morphine, oxymorphone, dilaudid, or methadone (off the top of my head) because they're all CII's.

They CAN, however, call in any kind of hydrocodone product, codeine, valium, xanax, (other benzos), ambien, muscle-relaxers, and just about anything else you can think of. But all CII's must be in written prescription.

Plus it is not your ordinary prescription pad either, the paper has some security devices built in, like watermarks, heat sensitive thumbpads which turn color. Replaced the triple DEA prescriptions pads.
