Cops in LA really don't care about weed. My friends dad got pulled over once (i think he was driving too slow on the freeway cause he was so lit) and they found a dub on him when they searched his car. They give it back to him and let him on his way.



One time I got pulled over by a motorcycle cop because I was driving for 5 city blocks without my headlights and it was 9 in the evening already. We were so faded, we had the bloodshot eyes, and it wreaked of bud. The cop told me to turn my lights on and let me on my way.



Anyone else experience something like this?

No, not personally. The weekend before the last week of school we were smoking an ounce. We were parked on the side of a road and the driver was rolling a blunt. A cop drove by so he stashed it in his sweathsirt pocket. The next wedeneys day, on the last week of school, the drug dogs came and smelled sone residue of weed in his swearshirt. The principle was watching as the cop wrote him a citation, and when the cop finished the principal left, and the cop ripped it up for the kid.

Driving illegally underage, I had a cop totally let me off. No license,lied my ass off,said my address was like 123 something- he had someone in plainclothes in the front seat,and I thought it was a friend of his, not another cop, soI'm like "Isn't that against the law for him to ride with you." They amused themselves laughing at for a while, then let me go. Never even ran myI.D.Of course. the short black dress with black garter stockings showing and high heels might have distracted the boys in blue that night. Thank God, I was only 15! My friend and I dissolved into hysterical laughter once we drove the 25 or so miles back home... I guess I looked better than I thought back then.

My mother's new car. I stole her keys from her purse while she was in the next room, had my girlfriend take me to the locksmith which was really close, and had the keys put back and a set made without her suspecting anything. I don't dress like that anymore either..I would feel like such a skank, but that's cause I'm 13 years older, methinks.

I had a strange experience with a cop once. I was 16, riding in a friends car with three other people, coming home from a party. It was dead of winter in the upper midwest, snow blowing across the road and everything. A cop pulls up behind us, and this girl riding in the car with us got freaked out and tried to duck down (stupid, I know. But hey tweakers do wierd things), well the cop must have taken this to be suspicious, and so he pulled us over. The kid in the front seat is busy trying to stash everything under his seat, and of course the cop doesn't miss any of this while watching us from behind.


He gets us all out of the car and starts to search, by this time we all figure we must be f**ked. He's pulling rigs (syringes), spoons, cotton balls, pipes, etc. out from under the front seat and from under the dash. While all this is going on I pulled the only syringe I had out of my sock and threw it over my shoulder real quick like.


After he had made his way through the car he calmly walked back to his cruiser, gota plastic bag, and shoved all this paraphernalia into the bag. He collected us all on the curb and looks from person to person (a bunch of skinny tweaker kids, ages 15-17) then he says "you know what, I don't want to be the one to tell your parents what you kids are up to. It's only going to break their hearts." Then he hands the keys back to Nick, the driver, and says "get out of here". Needless to say, we were in shock.


On the way back to his car he suddenly stops, and of course we think he has changed his mind and we're again f**ked. But he says "hey you", pointing to me, then he says "you should probably pick that up." He was pointing to the rig I had thrown over my shoulder, which had apparently landed in the only lit area of the sidewalk, directly under a streetlamp. I picked it up, put it in his little walmart bag with the rest of our assorted misdemeanors, and got back in the car. No one said a single word the rest of the way home.


Now that was a crazy experience.

I got Busted quite a few times by the cops. Never really had a good experience with any of them. Altho ive had not so bad ones liek when i was really wasted walking back wiht a 12 pack in my bag the cop stopped me herd the bottles hitting eachother and then he just asked for one. And another time i got pulled over i was really drunk and super high he searched me took about 5 joints about like 3 grams he just took it and gave me a lift home and told my rents he never charged me with anything wich was awesome. Also ive had a cop tell me yo man u got nayweed and with paranoia i said no. He then sadi man i could really use a joint right now and then hes liek look man im not gonna say shit just if u get me high ill leave u alone and he looked preety serious. so i told him it was cool started t get outta the car so i sparked up and then he pulls out his cuffs and next thing i know im in the drunk tank in the police station basement!! So just to warn u guys if a cop ever comes and asks to smoke with you even if he looks like he would dont trust him!!

Cops are issued daily briefings where they are instructed to assign priority to different crimes, crime areas, and given specific information on susects and criminal evidence.



If I'm not mistaken, California is taking a lot of Federal heat for legalizing medical marijuana.



Since I can't imagine a cop actually letting someone KEEP his buds after a search, I would assume there's a bit of a political power-struggle going on in your area (between the Federal Government, and State & Local law enforcement) which has resulted in a general understanding among local law enforcement field personnel.



I wouldn't push it; though, nor would I be naive enough to consider this leniency a permanent condition.

I smoked weed with people you all dream of. A cop and my teacher. I was smoking with a cool cop that i know because he helped me out a bad situation. He came round because i was chillen in a building site with some of my friends. He and another officer came and we were doing the ussual drinking scotch and smoking pot and some hoovering snow.

When the cops came we just kept on drinking and smokin but we put the blow away. So the cops told us that if we wanted 2 stay we had 2 make less noise. Its all about respect. If i give him a hard time hell take us downtown 4 a sleepover and if we are cool and say yes officer no officer then they are cool 2. Especially this guy. He sat down with us talked with us and we passed the joint round and he asked 4 a puf and we gave it 2 him. after about 20 25 minutes he left. Every time i see him i say hello 2 him. I advice everyone 2 be nice 2 the police because they can turn out better than you may expect.

well, this is the best i can remember at the moment. It was a few years ago. Iwas driving with a black friend of mine in one of my cars, 2001 acura cl type s with chrome 19'' wheels. Both my friend and i are pretty big guys, I'm about 6'5'' and he was about 6'7''. I had just a zip of cola and maybe like a quad of dro. The black and white combo isn't the best, pigs will always think twice, especially in a car like that. Anyway, we're driving in an area that I wasn't used too, so the pig didn't recognize my car, he just pulled us over cause I'm white and my friend was black, some bullshit. I've always been able to keep my cool around cops, this time was no different even though we had just thrown about 2 g's up our nose. He asked for my license and registration and shit, and also for my friends. he said the reason he pulled us over was for my tint. but i'm not fucking stupid, i got that tint no darker than the state limit for that exact reason. I told him that, but asked for my friends shit anyway. My buddy had warrants out on him so he made up some bullshit info, he was fuckin' high. When the pig asked for his name again my buddy gave him a totally different name. this then led to us gettin out of the car. i had stashed my shit in a slit in my dash that i had previously made. The pig glanced in my car and made up some bullshit that he saw "marijuana residue", I told him he was mistaken but we were behind the car and what the fuck could I do? He then said that he had enough reason to get his K-9 out to sniff around the vehicle. I thought were we fucked. He got out his mutt and I was at my last defense. I told him that this is fuckin' bullshit, told him that my lawyer would fuckin sue his ass for no probable cause and for pulling us over strictly on race. That even if he did find something this shit wouldn't hold up in court. This got his attention, he made up some bullshit rebutle and half assed walked his dog around my car. I think the dog was new at this shit cause it didn't look like it knew what it was doing. The cop gave me back my shit and told us to get the fuck outta here. I told him to have a nice day and drove the fuck off. Usually I didn't drive that car while holding. I have a police issue chevy caprice that i drive if I ever have to with weight. But I got sloppy, and it almost fucked me in the end. I've got o ton of other stories abot the leos and I, but I've already writen a page, so I'll stop here.

The cops here in San Francisco don't give a shit about marijuana. They make one round at hippie hill in the Haight once a week just to bust anyone they catch dealing but pot is a common scent at a bus stop anywhere in the city, anytime of day, anyday of the week.


We have too big of a problem with crack, heroin, cocaine, and crystal meth for the cops to give two shits about marijuana. They don't even tell you to put it away really. The SF cops are notoriously lazy and busting people for marijuana means busting 70% of the city and that means a shitload of paperwork. It might as well be legal.
