Police sold soap as Cocaine

CARY, N.C. -- Cary police are looking for a man who they said tried to pass off Ivory soap as cocaine during a drug operation.


According to investigators, Stephen Curtis Hoyle, 18, of Castalia Drive in Cary sold 2.3 ounces of Ivory soap to police officers for $1,500 during a drug operation.


"Although the suspect used a counterfeit substance as part of the operation, it is a crime to market a substance as cocaine in North Carolina," said Capt. Dave Wulff.


Hoyle is wanted for one count of sale and delivery of a counterfeit controlled substance and one count of possession with intent to sale and delivery of a counterfeit controlled substance.


Hoyle was last seen on March 10 wearing blue jeans, a long white T-shirt and sneakers. He may be in eastern Cary near the Village Greenway and Mobile Estates areas.

Let me get this straight. This guy rips the police off to the tune of $1,500 during a drug sting and then the only description they can give is that he is "wearing blue jeans and a white t-shirt" !!!

Man what did they do? Just buy the soap off of him and then let him walk out the door? That's the strangest approach to a bust I've ever heard of.

Sounds like swims wife cousin, he made a killing one weekend selling pieces of Ivory soap soaked in oralgel (toothache medicine). Bad thing about it, the crackheads kept coming back for more.
