Easiest way: Break it up into little bits and add to a tobacco joint. Or a bong of course.

Smoking hash? Heat it until it's soft and crumble it into a pipe of some type. Mixing with tobacco is popular but a waste.

Smoking on charcoal may be better, but a cost-effective way to smoke hash oil is to "chase the dragon," i.e. smoke it off tin foil like some smoke heroin or opium.

For the oil. Another method with the tinfoil is to take a peice of tin foil and tear it into a bunch of little squares, approx 1 inch squared. Use a twist tie wire or whatever you have and put a drop of oil on each square, then simply roll up the peices of foil into little balls. Put the ball in your pipe bowl and smoke as you would anything else. Make as many foil balls as you want, makes for easy access later on.

motorhead - Why would you suggest smoking a foil? Smoking material off of a foil is bad enough.

All right then. Hot kniving oil is another method. Unlike hash you only need one blade. Find yourself a wire like the ones in twist ties and, then fold it, and twist it around itself leaving a little loop at one end. Dip this loop in your oil for your hit. Using a torch is the best way to heat your blade, but the stove-top element will do the trick. Touch your hit to the heated tip then inhale. Find some kind of tube with a flared end that you can hold in your mouth to inhale the smoke if by your lonesome. A pen will work, the end isnt flared so it takes some practice to catch the smoke.
Alot of people also just smear some oil on their rolling paper before rolling a joint.

Hot knifes and charcoals are the most effecient way to smoke hash and hash oil; and very pratical, inexpensive, and easy to do.

Smoking off tin foil is obviously not good for you, although a couple of lung-fulls is enough. Actually smoking tin foil-- that sounds very carcinogenic.

Hot knives with hash oil might not be too bad with hash oil-- with hash, hot knives sears your lungs!

Maybe a kinder way for your body to smoke oil is mixing with grass or some inert vegetable material? (Many smoke it mixed in with tobacco, in a spliff, which is wasteful, and not acceptable to non-smokers.)

Another swim and friends have done it was hash in a glass. Take a piece of cardvoard, like the kind soda is packaged in and push a pin through it. Put a chunk of hash on the end of the pin, light it and put the glass of your choice over it and when it fills with smoke it is tilted and the smoke is inhaled. Repeat as needed.

This is the method that SWIM has been using for over twenty years. In addition to this, a fine meshed screen in what was commonly referred to a 'hash pipe' works as well.

Slightly OT: SWIM's first non-alcohol intoxication was with some good blonde hashish circa 1976. SWIM was having a hard time breaking through so his mate loaded an entire gram into the above styled pipe. SWIM smoked as much as he could - nearly the whole gram - and it was quite the explosive experience.

Not only did SWIM totally break through, but was so stoned that he temporarily forgot that he had just smoked a bunch of hash. For 30 seconds or so, SWIM thought he was having a dream. Then came the 'aha' moment, and SWIM immediately knew why people strive to put themselves in altered states of conciousness.

SWIM was awed. It was a pretty heavy first experience.

As he grew up in the Middle-East swim's 7 years of smoking have been almost exclusively of hash, especially from Pakistan, Lebanon, and Afghanistan. He loves it, and prefers it much more to weed.

Hash oil is harder to find in general, but swim enjoys it when he does find it. If you have enough of it you can dip a cigarette in it and smoke it with several people to get immensely fucked up.

Also good is rolling weed joints and dripping some oil in there to give it a kick.




Swim enjoys joints immensely, and hash is excellent in them. There are two main ways he uses it.

1. Pure hash joints. Swim has done these occaisionally if he gets some blondie or other really good shit. Crumble the hash into really small pieces, though not quite a powder. This is hard. If the pieces are too big they won't burn well and if they are too small you won't be able to inhale well. Use a paper and a filter. Amazing stuff, produces a very nice taste and texture.

2. Spliff. Mixing in tobacco with hash is much easier than the other method. You have to burn the hash first though, as with anytime you smoke it. Put it on a key and flame it a bit and then let it smoke. It should be nice and crumbly when you take it off. Roll as usual.

swim also grew up in the middle-east in what is known as the home-land of some of the best hash in the world.
swim used to roll hash joints on regular basis but on special occasions, the gravity bong aka the bucket has proved very effective in getting swim and his friends really stoned. the apple and various other fruits transformed into smoking devices also proved very effective,although a little messy,since they add a sweet fruity flavor to your hits.

If it's good hash, it's impossible to crumble into small bits. The bits will just stick back together and form one huge chunk of hash. Then it's impossible to inhale. And if it's crappy hash that doesn't stick, it wont be able to burn while you smoke.

You can roll pure hash joints. Its best when you have really pure hash with little plant matter.

You can roll a joint with partially pressed hash resin or with a nice piece of pure hash.



Trust me, swim knows for sure you can roll a pure hash joint. It just takes practice and know-how.

Since SWIM has extensive experience with hash, he will give a detailed acount of how we Vikings do it.
SWIM has smoked hash for many years before he even saw weed in it's natural form. Most of the time it's very hard to get weed in Norway at all. Hash is just easier to smuggle than weed and we have a lot of morrocan and middle-eastern imigrants who are only too happy to supply us with mediocre quality hash for a rediculusly high price.

SWIM has done like all other SWIMS in Norway. You cut of a little piece (usually between 1/4 and 1/2 gram), warm it with a flame until fumes start to emerge (the fumes should not be allowed to catch fire), be sure it is warm throughout. Use a 1/4 or half a cigarette (depending upon your preference) and crumble the hash into it (be sure there is no lumps left). Another method is the simply heat the corner of a bigger slab of hash and just crumble off what will come off and mix this with tobacco.
Of coarse tobacco is extremely addictive, which is the way SWIM got addicted to the evil tobacco weed, so you can use alternatives. SWIM like the brown leaves that fall off his pot plants to mix his hasj with. The brown leaves are naturally fermented like tobacco is, so the taste is milder than dried green leaves. Or you can make a "cocktail" of weed and hash (which is very powerful).
We have also a smoking mix called "Knaster" which contains various herbs like dandilion flowers, damiana, nettles, skullcap, american red clover, elder, yerba santa, fermented blackberry leaves, vine leaves, hop flowers and hemp aroma. SWIM prefers the type that is mainly comprized of damiana with some smaller amounts of vine leaves and hop flowers that is scented with hemp aroma. This type smells and tastes mostly like damiana which is a beautifully smelling mexican herb.
A joint made of just hash will not burn, warm hash will stick together and not allow air to pass through. Pure hash in a pipe is possible if you make sure it isn't compressed too much.

Most SWIMS in Norway smoke hash from a pipe because it hits you faster and harder than from a joint. It is also more economical. Joint smoking is seen as a sort of luxury, but since people in general have become more wealthy, joint smoking has become more common. Joints also look more sofisticated than puffing on a chillum or corn-cob pipe, so it dosn't have the aura of drug use attached to it. Rolling you own sigarettes is very common in Norway because of the price of tobacco, so a home-rolled sigarette dosn't look as suspicious as it does in f.ex. the USA. The most common pipe used for hash in Norway is the corn-cob pipe in which one places a wire mesh screen into the bottom of the "well". One can also use a pipe cleaner, you just burn off all the bristles and form it into a flat spiral which is used insted of a wire mesh screen.
Bongs are a relativly recent phenomena here. We have usually used a rolled-up newspaper to get the same effect as a bong, but such a method gives you the same amount of smoke as a very large bong. A newer method is to use a 1/2 litre plastic bottle, which you at the bottom end melt two holes with a flame (on oppostite sides). One of these holes needs not be larger than you could put a pencil through, but the other one should be large enough to stick you little finger through. Put some tin foil over your little finger and pull it down so it forms a sort of cup. Insert your finger with the tin foil into the largest hole and fold the remaing tin foil down against the bottle. Use tape to secure it. Then take a neddle or pin and poke some holes into the bottom of the tin foil and load up. I think you grasp the purpose of the little hole. Light up and suck through the opening of the bottle. This is a easy and discardable hash pipe.
Another good method tha SWIM discovered while on vacation in Turkey is to use a Hookah and load up with the usual apple-scented sticky Turkish tobacco. On top of the tobacco you can crumble hash or just slice off thin pieces of hash. The pipe is smoked in the usual fashion with tin foil on top with a piece of smoldering charcoal. The smell of hash is completly absent using this method.

SWIM loads a bowl in his bong with high quality bud then covers the top of the bud with small pieces of full melt bubble hash. Then he holds the lighter so the hash vaporizes without burning the bud. When the hash is gone he smokes the bowl and is very stoned.

SWIM almost only smokes hand-rubbed hashish and a chillum and some tobacco is the only way to do it or straight from a pipe if you're a non-smoker.
