you can get a fine in the U.S. if stopped and you don't have your ID on you... at least in many states if not all

only if you're driving and have committed a traffic infraction? Police can't stop you can ask for ID while you're walking down the street...

Re: Dutch coffee shops introduce fingerprint ID

think they could but there would be no reason... it's not like they walk around saying "do you have your ID?!" but in the event that they would need to see it. check local laws... pretty sure if anyone is over 18 they can be fined for not having it, at all times in the u.s.a. but it's not strict really.

Idk I checked my cities laws and there nothing... I'm not going to check my state laws because thats too much work p but I'm relativity certain it wouldn't be there either...Because despite what you Europeans say about fascism coming to America (And yes you're sort of right because we are losing are freedoms). But I thank you. It completely blew my mind thinking that in parts of Europe you have to carry ID at all times. It make me feel that this freedom we are losing in the USA is worth fighting for because it looks like there's no where else to go...

Re: Dutch coffee shops introduce fingerprint ID

In holland it wont happen often. I had it happen to me once where they stopped me for no obvious reason and asked for my ID. I asked why they stopped me and they said routine control. They than ran me trough the computer and then let me on my way.
