Wink Men versus Women: Who Uses Cocaine More?

G'day!

Just doing a quick survey from peoples' experiences on whether it's men or women who use coke the most? It's got the reputation as being a middle-class drug and used a lot by office workers particularly in the city so I would say that there are larger numbers women users than men. From someone who doesn't frequent ladies toilets I can't say for certain though.

Am I correct in this assumption?

Well in SWIM's experience his lady friends seem to get more addicted to the stuff, he doesn't know about who uses more though. There are a lot of models that do coke, and they are generally women, SWIM can't think of a predominantly male profession associated with coke use.

In SWIM's experience it's a 50:50 ratio - men:women.

Most TV and entertainment people probably are too. I remember when kids TV presenter John Leslie got caught he said that at least half of all people in TV are on coke. Lets face it if cuddly old Frank Bough has indulged then anyone can be a user.

I think I may have found the answer to my original question and it appears I was wrong in my original assumption. Here's some data from a UK website though this may vary around the globe. Apparantly there are twice as many male users of coke than female unless they're less willing to admit to trying....?

With respect Bladerunner I think that the web page you referred us to is particularly cr*p. The page in question is simply a loose collection of quotes from other web sites and copywrite images! The "facts" often aren't facts at all. For example....

"
regular crack cocaine users could spend over £1000 over a weekend on 10g of the drug" -- it's just as valid too say "regular crack cocaine users could get run over by a bus or win the lottery".

-or-

"
whites were found to abuse amphetamines and LSD more than Afro-Caribbeans" -- How much more? 1% more? 500% more?

-or-

"
48% of male prisoners use drugs whilst in prison" -- No shit Sherlock!!

Also, the reports he cites are from 1992 to 1998. Eight years on patterns of Cocaine use may have changed.

The site's name "forensicmed.co.uk" gives the impression it's full of "forensic" information but it doesn't appear to be anything of the sort. It appears to be the web site owner's penis extension.

Please don't think I'm having a go at you Bladerunner, I'm not. It's just I hate to see web sites that pretend to contain authoratitive information when they don't. It's what gives the web a bad name....

Klaatu (you can tell what sort of day I've had, can't you)

No not at all and I appreciate your feedback. Yes all info does need to be taken at face value but I think there were some valid points that some of you would like to see and share with. I know there are studies all the time on behaviours by some university bozo but not many are published on the net...

SWIM has seen many more girls with "cravings", after the thing is finished, than man. At least they cant control it as much and ask.
But apparently girls dont seem to take coke as much. Seems as a paradox but you can see this when you know them well. When you know 30/30 man or women, and take this kind of conclusion, is it just coincidence? Is it just SWIM circle, city or country or is it a gender difference? Of course there is absolutely no prejudice here. SWIM and his wife both have the same "craving" at the same time, but usually she is the one who talks first, just like his female friends. Maybe (i guess thats really the point) they are less hypocrit than men . Learn from them and maybe we (men) get less moral regrets.

Yeah it seems men binge more but more women show signs of coke abuse more...

I also believe girlies are more likely to do it socially than the guys but I maybe wrong though....
