Momentary perceptual delusions due to quitting marijuana?

I know this has happened to everyone to some extent. EX:

Well here is my first experience with it: After smoking weed for about two years i decided to quit and slow my role for a while. Then one day while driving the passanger just lit a cigerette and i momentarally smelt weed. This has also happened when driving with the window down and no smoking of any sort was in my range(to my knowledge). I know this has happened to many people because i've talked to people about it.

Recently: I was driving and i seen what looked like migrant workers on the side of the road digging a ditch. Then as i looked again more closely i came to realize that is was tall plants with maroon colored bags blowing in the wind in a sort of fashion that would make me believe that people were digging.

Finally my most intense, kind of freaky delusion that was more real and lasting then the rest: I watched donnie darko only to fully understand and enjoy it the third time that day which was late at night. I sleot on the couch that night and woke up later on that night to see the bunny creature from the movie in the corner of the wall. It came closer and closer until i closed my eyes and fell abck asleep. I then awoke what seemed to be moments later to see it closer and also hear the portal sound from the movie. I actually sat up and it was still there but faded slowly as seconds passed. I then fell asleep and awoke to find the sound loud and the bunny in my face. I then hurried to my bed and figured forget the couch. This was a pretty freaky situation and i think it is safe to call it a delusion.

I am curious to see if others have had experiences like these. I find stuff like this to be very interesting and intriguing. The human mind.

I imagine everyone has delusions from time to time. Even before SWIM started with drugs he would "see" things that don't really make sense. I suspect it is just SWIM's senses messing with him, however. So to answer your question, yes, I have seen things like this. I am not sure if that is related to drug use or not, however. Someone with a greater knowledge on how the brain works can help you better here, but everyone is prone to a little delusion every now and then.

When i get ill especially if i get a temperature although it happens without too i get hallucinations. Once when i was much younger i thought my hands were crumbling like dry clay. Another time i felt like the walls were closing in on me. SWIM tends not to get any delusions when he's not on any dubstances except the obvious looking in the dark and believing one thing is something else because the mind plays tricks on itself.

Just thought i'd add a side note that SWIM recently used Cyclizine (Marzene) and this enhanced the very theory your talking about, it caused me to hallucinate when in the dark because i would believe something like a coat hanger over a chair was something that it wasnt.

Technically this was not a delusion but an "illusion" a misinterpretation of a sensory stimulus. An hallucination is the perception of something in the absence of a sensory stimulus. A delusion is a belief that is held despite it being incorrect and in the face of compelling evidence to the contrary.

I think we'd all agree on that one. if you get a high temperature your brain will start to act funny..i was once pretty sick when i was younger and woke up in a panic and saw this giant rubber ball bouncing extremely fast between the walls. i was running around trying to dodge it and get out of my room...if i was a bit older it might have actually been pretty cool. im sure you've all stayed up long enough and started hallucinating. its amazing how the mind works..

That would scare me. Pretty bad. I get scared from things like "pop outs". So if i opened my eyes and saw the bunny mask right in my face i would have screamed like a little schoolgirl!
