codeine=itching

I recently took 5 tylenol 3's and after some euphoria my head became very itchy, VERY itchy.
i have heard of heroin addicts scratching themselves to the point of bleeding and now I understand why. Just thought I'd share that with you as a heads up so newbies don't freak out such as I almost did.

Not just newbies. Swim doesnt bother with opies much anymore so he was delighted when he stumbled across a couple of donated 12mg hydromorphone contins a couple of weeks ago. Before, when using regularly, the itch had ceased to be a bother. But on this occasion, so far removed from habitual use, swim near scratched himself silly. Itching is the common pain in the ass of the opiate user.

Swim would love to itch. Meant swim was high. The itching doesnt last long though in opiate addiction.

SWIM was on the codeine last night and got a bit itchy. It's not too bad as long as the dose in somewhat moderated. SWIM doesn't sleep that instantly when on codeine. He usually just lies in bed and enjoys the buzz listening to music, itching away.

swim feels as tolerance (addiction ) goes up it makes this statement true

itching = being high

meaning sometimes swim beleives that if there is no itching present than swim did not take enough

a good evil then

SWIM loves to itch, SWIM feels so great when he's scratching his arms and body while hes wrapped up in an amazing warm fuzzy feeling. SWIM thinks that the itching is worse with Morphine than Codeine too. But that makes Morphine all the more enjoyable for SWIM.

The other night I took 210mg of codeine with no tolerence and barely felt the high and have never itched. The tablets were pure 30mg codeine phosphate still in the wrapper so I must have a natural tolerence

SWIM gets itchy also. Not in an uncomfortable way, just know it's working.

Codeine is a powerfull histamine releaser. When I take it I will always take an anti histamine beforehand.

Wink

itch can be bad, but it can be good also. SWIM always views it as a side effect of the drug (positive or negative, which is subjectively decided)... or maybe another attribute of the drug depending on how you look at it. if you weren't constantly itching would you really be as aware of your fuckedupness? you wouldn't be able to enjoy true pleasure withought experimencing true pain ( or in this case annoyance by itching) hmmm what would the effect be entiredly without that itch. oh and by the way, rubbing cooling mint like lotion on you skin (like aloe for sunburns) feels awesome AND itensifies other effects (so that maybe the itching can stop driving you fucking wild for a few minutes!!! hahha ) TRUST ME !! what more can i say? i think i have gotten way off topic here but to sum it up, either scratch your ass and deal with it or itch it a litte, grab some moisturizer and relish in the sensations!! haha!!!! i'm awesome!!!!

As a regular user of dihydrocodeine for medical reasons i have experienced itching on a few occaisons. For me itching usually occurs late in the day after taking the normal presciption doses (30-60mg 4 times a day)throughtout the day. Then to help me goin to sleep a large dose is required to stop pain and is far above the reccomended medical quantity (120-180mg).

Itching is a side effect of large codeine doses. The only other times it has been encountered is when in hospital and on IV Morphine and then it can be very uncomfortable indeed!!
