i think you should be fine, SWIM ingested 8 to 10 of those before, and lived to tell the tale. i just think SWIY shouldnt do it too often. like ever again. but you wont die, you may not even get sick. i think it takes a slightly larger dose or a longer term of use to cause liver toxicity, and while what you just did cant exactly be healthy, you should just throw up (if youre still worried about it), avoid alcohol (it increases the damage APAP can do), and drink plenty of water, but you shouldnt be in much danger.

and, for clarification, swim hopes that at least you had ingested some hydro or oxycodone with all that aceteminophen. make it a little worthwhile. next time use CWE.

Important!!! Don't drink alcohol for the night. Alcohol and acetaminophen can be a very VERY dangerous combo.


It is not recommended that you take over three grams in a day, which you have done. Worse yet, you have taken it all at once. This dose is not going to kill you though, unless you are under 60 lbs. The lethal dose is described as being 68 mg per pound, which comes to alittle over 10 grams (10,000 mg) for a 150 pound person. That is actually a conservative estimate.

Having said that, you should realize that you are potentialy causing damage to your liver. It won't kill you immediately, and it is not physically noticable, but these actions add up. Just remember this next time you decide to use pills with acetaminophen, or any other ingredient that can be problematic. Look up the cold water extraction method. It is very effective and it will reduce the danger that comes with consuming these substances. It might take a small amount of the good stuff out, but it's important to consider your health.

By '500mg pills' I take it you mean there was 500 mg paracetamol (acetominothingy) in the pill. Max dose = 4 grams = 8 x 500 mg, so provided you don't drink alcohol or take anything else containing paracetamol in the next 24 hours you'll be fine.

The average persons liver can handle 4 grams of act. in a 24 hour span of time. You should explain why you took all that asprin tho im curious. The APAP in prescribtion pills is asprin by the way for all the uneducated overdosers.

SWIM wouldnt reccomend exceeding that 4 gram mark. anyone he knows that attempted to overdo it ended up with a pain in their liver the next day. i guess the other funny thing about this thread, or about APAP itself, is how ineffective and shitty an anti-inflammatory it is to begin with, and how dangerous it is when mixed with alcohol. makes swim wonder why its combined with any opiates at all (or for that matter reccomended as a hangover cure, of all things).

No it's not it's Acetominophen (paracetamol)! Far more dangerous than aspirin (although aspirin's pretty nasty)
