SWIM regularly takes a relatively low dose of
Clonazepam (4mg) to aid sleep. SWIM avoids
alcohol because SWIM tends to mix their
downers.
At the moment this SWIM is taking
ephedra to lose weight (don't knock it till you've tried they report it v effective....they've lost 32lbs in 3 months...but the stimulant effects are v long lasting). This seems to have affected their sleep and their usual dose of Clonazepam isn't adequate. So they got out some promethazine they used to take but didn't like because it created a horrible next day grogginess...and took 25mg of that and 4mg of Clonazepam. Days and days of low sleep and bad quality sleep reported by SWIM now and a few times they have taken Ambien (whatever the normal dose is times two) added to this mix to try to get unconscious or even sleepy. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
SWIM thinks they may be taking an unnecessary risk by mixing their downers like this and is considering just upping the Clonazepam. Last night SWIM took a double dose of Clonazepam...then a bit more...in the end 25mg promethazine and 16mg Clonazepam.
They are taking
stimulants to tune of 200-500mg
caffeine a day and 50mg of ephedra from sida cordifolia. SWIM reports they find this very effective but understand that it's not a long term deal...they only intend to be on this 'diet' (to shed weight gained by some undesirable white-coat-dealer type meds!) for another month.
The question therefore is...do you think rather than take a combi of Promethazine and Clonazepam for this period, SWIM should just up the dose of Clonazepam as necessary...and then it cut it down or cut it out gradually when they come off the stimulants.
(SWIM plans to wean off both uppers and downers...probably concurrently...though SWIM has been on and off uppers and downers for many many years and finds coming off them quite quickly not too much of a problem...but in the past SWIM was irresponsible and took promethazine, valium, clonazepam and ambien cocktails to faciliatate sleep and SWIM is thinking that way lies the potential for an accidental overdose!)
Also, SWIM gets their extra curricular meds from an OP...the quality is generally and they always test the strength first...SWIM has had such good quality clonazepam they are hesitant to try a different tranq...but wonder xanax or valium might be stronger...or whether buying a range of benzo downers and taking valium one day, xanax the next and clonazepam might prevent problems with tolerance?? Are there any benzos that stand out as generally better effective than others...SWIM asks me so many questions they should join this forum!

My raccoon had a question related to SWIMs too...my raccoon wondered if they took clonazepam at 10mg a night for example, would they expect much in the way of
withdrawal. My raccoon wouldn't share his stash with smaller woodland animals for safety X
