Is there always a buzzing sound

SWIM tried smoking DMT, got an incredible buzzing sensation accompanied by a similar sound. The sound and feeling kept gettin stringer and was very intense, almost scary. There was no breakthough on that occaison, but the world was vey different and kalidescopic in nature.

Is the buzzing always present, and do u always feel like your breathin is impaired??

in swims experience the buzzing or whistling sound always comes from the jaw until your breakthrough, inwich case you don't notice that sound ... but for the first minute swim always gets the jaw buzz.

Yes, SWIM always gets it too. And he consciously takes deep regular breaths...

Some people get a buzzing sound some don't. SWIM does not get a buzzing sound.

SWIM has never gotten a buzzing sound. he has heard a strange noise during his few breakthrough doses which seemed like "chatter" the placxe where he as had alot of the entities and they seemed to be talking amongst themselves.

as for the difficulty breathing thing, no. not during the trip at least.

the first time SWIM smoked through a glass bubble base pipe he had irritation in his throat and lungs for a day. since then he recrystallized the spice and that does not happen anymore.

He also suspects the irritation was actually from droplets of liquid (containing lye) and not the vapor itself. From what I understand, the melting point of lye is far higher than the BOILING point of DMT, so its really not possible to actually vaporize the lye while you are smoking DMT. (however, I read on the dmtworld forums that when smoked in a base pipe if there is lye in your spice it causes a reaction with the spice and destroys it. SWIM has personally witnessed this, it causes the clear liquid melted spice to turn into a much darker, thicker liquid that stains the glass.

While sodium hydroxide (lye) does not melt/boil into a gas-phase until X temperature - somehow it does manage to volatize. Ask anyone who has ever used it to clean an oven. It does! Perhaps it steam-distills over with moisture. I'm not going to set up a lab to research this phenomena. Suffice to say: It does.

For this reason it is very important to wash any extracts several times to remove ALL residual NaOH from the material. Think it's washed enough? Wash it again!

I agree with that.

SWIM got a separatory funnel and in hisa next extraction he will be doing a baking soda/water wash, a brine wash, an anhydrous epsom dry and a heptane recrystallization.
