I am curious if anyone on this site has quality info on the amount of
opium required to manufacture all the legal
drugs being sold in the western world. All/most modern day pain medicine uses some derivitive of opium.
I hypothesis that the legal production of
poppy's is far less, remarkably less, than what is required by big pharma to make all that they sell on the store shelves.
I would even consider much of the recent expansion in production in Afghanistan is being black marketed through the back door to big pharma's. A great way to dramatically increase returns on investment. Could our military be flying it out on their behalf?
There are hundreds of years of history of governments trading opium, above and below board. I have been searching for some quality info to demonstrate the truth of this hypothesis or to bury the idea that our gov'ts are in Afghanistan for the wrong reason.
If Big Phara firms buy enough to manufacture what they produce then my theory is dead. I find this difficult to believe but can find nothing to support it either way. Except history, which tends to be in my favour.
