It seems busts usually occur after a complex series of factors allows the accuser to gather enough evidence to make a successful prosecution possible. Such a combination of factors can take awhile to appear, so SWIM doubts anyone would/could get busted immediately. Much more likely to occur to a person who's been in trouble elsewhere (e.g. multiple attempts to import controlled subbies) and has been actively seeking stuff via mail order for quite awhile.

SWIM's advice: When in doubt, lie low. Stop ordering controversial stuff for awhile. Don't pick up anything at the post office, or sign for anything you're not sure about. Keep your eyes open and stay alert. Should be enough to avoid getting busted, ISHO. The gov't tends to pursue costly, high-profile and precedent-setting cases only if they're pretty damn sure about getting a conviction. Don't give 'em reason to believe they can get one, and they probably won't try.

On this one occassion about a year ago, Swim emailed a chemical company headquatered in Switzerland inquiring for 7 grams of a 5meo-dmt. Swim did not provide a address in the email. Swim got a email back from the company that said the requested compound was a controlled substance and that all inquiries of this type are flagged and forwarded to the DEA for investigation. Afterwards, swim noticed on their web site that the company had subsidaries in the USA. So be careful when asking about RCs from a chemical supplier. Swim immediately terminated that email account and have heard nothing expect for that one email.

SWIM ordered 100mg of 5meodmt from hong-kong. The package never arrived. SWIM has been worried for awhile. Not sure what to think of it. Did some govt agenct take it? Was it lost? Or did SWIM get ripped off?

Rip offs are possible, FDA seizure is equally likely. Sometimes they send you a letter saying the packaged was held and ask you to claim it, sometimes you never hear anything. Swim ordered an internet powder that never showed, when he had lost all hope he recieved a letter from the FDA informing him they had it 5 months later.

These letters are not notifying you that you are under investigation or they think you are commiting legal activities, they are simply wanting to see that you are a credited researcher and that these chemicals are for a legitamite purpose, simply don't respond to the letters. "5-meo-dmt, never heard of it, that sounds poisonous to me, I do not want this"

It is also possible that it gets lost, I've read about 1% of domestic mail gets lost, I'm sure this is higher for international mail.

a friend of mine ordered some GBL 500ml (stupid i told him!) which didnt arrive so he contacted source who re-sent... second one never arrived, then a visit from ur friendly law enforcement....
they had a warrant for 1L gbl...
didnt find much, some foxy and shrooms... (yes my foolish friend told them it was foxy)
they also took his computer... but still no charges

been months with no news... any ideas on possible outcome... it twas my friends first offence...

If he hasn't been charged by now, odds are the DA didn't find enough evidence (usually it's the payment, and not the shipping, trail that helps the prosecution win a conviction) on the computer to go ahead with the GBL case.

Regarding the foxy and shrooms, who knows? Maybe the weakness of the GBL case would unravel the original search warrant.

I agree with pissdrunk...tell him to get a lawyer...look for one that specializes in drug cases and has a history of success (not failure).

A good lawyer may not be able to make it all go away but one will def be way better off than trying to represent themselves.

recently swim ran into some law troubles due to it...they came to swims house, found nothing, confiscated computers, found nothing and still proceeded to try to get swim arrested for things uncommitted. (or so they believe) truly arduous process with agonizing effects on swims wallet.

really be careful ordering chems into the US due to our governments moral stick-up-the-ass attitude on drugs. be very careful and find decent suppliers. (not stating swims because they're all swims and swim won't share... plus it is against the rules!)

swim ordered 25 grams 2c-e and 5 grams BromoDFLY and received them without trouble due to company changing the name of the chemical before sending.

the courier swim was using got busted for selling steroids too so there was a US wide bust on jugheads buying steroids... it was on the news a while ago

they found swims name in a computer database and proceeded to go rampant through swims things and find nothing (swim is not stupid enough to keep his stash in his house) Ultimately swim won't personally order things anymore he goes through others and such but it was a bad scare.

^^^^ Probably only a handful of cases, since yopo/ayahuasca contain Schedule I tryptamines and MGS's contain Schedule III lysergic acid amines and/or amides.

But I would guess that such cases involved individuals planning to redistribute these products.

While yopo and MG seeds would be difficult to prosecute--since one could claim to be a gardener--ayahuasca packages bundled together provide stronger evidence for intent of human consumption.
