Chemical free tobacco?

I'm wondering if there is any tobacco out there that has much less shitty chemicals in it than most of the big brands. I did a quick google search without much luck. Anyone?

You want American Spirit brand. Additive free.

They sell both cigarettes and rolling tobacco.

Re: Chemical free tobacco?

Yeah, American Spirits even has an organic tobacco now, to take it one step further. So now you can get additive-free, organically-grown tobacco in either roll-your-own loose tobacco (recommended) or pre-made machined cigarettes. *grin*

They're made by the Santa Fe Natural Tobacco Company and their website is nascigs.com.

I don't know of any others, unless you feel like growing your own tobacco (which isn't such a bad idea, so long as you know what you're doing).

In the UK, only two cigarette varieties are commonly available, in yellow or blue packs, plus the rolling tobacco. American Spirit tobacco is available in the UK in Oddbins, Sainsbury's, Waitrose, Tesco, Asda, specialist tobacconists, and occasional newsagents.

Cool, I didn't know about Pueblo tobacco. Thanks.

Yeah, I used to buy American Spirit in Sainsburys, but they don't seem to stock it anymore. In fact the last time I asked for it, the two stupid tw*ts behind the counter just laughed, and said 'We only sell English tobacco'...

The best places are independent tobacconists or the internet.

Re: Chemical free tobacco?

Just to add one in there, although it does not show on the label anymore.. Winston cigarettes are known for being additive free as well.

Leonurus is learning how to become a psychonaut.
Re: Chemical free tobacco?

If you are willing to do a little work, test your green thumb, and a have a place to plant, you could grow your own tobacco. I know some individuals that do it. The process takes some time because it takes to time grow and cure. However, this could be a rewarding experience. Also, the amount you harvest from just one plant could fulfill your tobacco needs for quite some time.

My dog did the research on growing tobacco back when he enjoyed consuming the substance. I don't know the laws in your area, but in some places the practice of growing tobacco is restricted, my dog said.

If you don't feel like growing your own. Take the other SWIMmers advice and consume American Spirit. I know a few individuals that use American Spirit products regularly and enjoy it.

Re: Chemical free tobacco?

Turns out American Spirit is a load of bullshit and does contain chemicals. I'll assume this is the case for Dunhill, as they taste like most other cigarettes.

I once came across some tobacco in Thailand that had no chemicals supposedly, but couldn't verify this. Tasted damn nice though!

Anyone know of any current ways to obtain chemical free tobacco? I don't fancy growing any..

Re: Chemical free tobacco?

shrooom, as i understand it, AS is "additive free", but not chemical free. i'm not sure any commercial plants can really be chemical free. AS *does* have an organic version available too, so perhaps that might be an option you'd be willing to consider? you'd probably have to have a local tobacconist special order the organic version for you (or perhaps find it online).

personally, i'm off tobacco & using a personal vaporiser/e-cigarette myself, and i make my own e-juice, so i know exactly what i'm putting into it. i feel it helps, but who really knows, as i'm not exactly certain what goes into the food-grade flavorings i use to flavor my juice. heh. but, plenty of people avoid that by just vaping their nicotine unflavored. can't really get any fewer "chemicals" than medical-grade nicotine & propylene glycol! but that's moving too far off-topic, so i'll just mention again that you can get organic American Spirit tobacco & leave it at that.
