I think one remembers it being a useful, informative and factual `information` service because one didn't know any better, or at least as much.
Now ones knowledge base through the experience of others and the self, not to mention excellent resources such as this forum and the likes of lycaeum and erowid, and the kind of free thinking and fact finding they inspire has lead one, when re-reading Franks `teachings`, to realise that it wasn't all that good in the first place.
Yes, it has a kind of "if you`re going to do it any way, be safe, and this is a suggestion to it..." and yes, its the first place kids have been told by the governmental `authority` anything other than the "its bad for you, it will kill you and turn you into a demented criminally insane monster that steals from old grannies and rapes children" mantra, but..... it still `isn't all that good`. By `isn't all that good` I mean it is still full of propaganda, misdirection, twisted statistics, misconstrued/misrepresented facts and infactual information.
On the other side of the coin, it still contradicts the understanding and governmental message of the law and kind of undermines it. For example; suggesting that there are illegal drugs more harmful than legal ones undermines the essence that the law is made to protect us and place drugs in a legal position on par with their danger to society and the user.
I haven't actually looked at Frank for years, think I will do that just now, see if my memory of it has `warped`!

WTF "Skunk is actually stronger than it used to be", used to be when?
Someone corrrect me if i`m wrong but skunk is just a brand name, a strain (clone?) of weed genetically crossbred/selected and grown under intense methods to maximise the amount/density of cannabinoids bred around the 70`s (?). OK Super skunk, skunk II etc is stronger than skunk, so maybe sort of technically the frank statement is true.......
Bloody hell.....

.....just that little skim through frank nearly gave me a heart attack!
Although I still think its what I said above, they`re just a bit more graphic about it now, and they have hidden some of the law contradicting statements a bit `better` (they are still there, only just..."Alcohol is seen by many as a more socially acceptable drug, but that’s not to say it’s any less powerful than other drugs.")
And then there's the pretty factual page on mushrooms, not technically correct but not blatantly demonising, lying or twisting the truth too much!?
Mixed messages or what?!
