Book Weeding?
SWIM was telling me another of his stories last night as we waited for our cookies to bake in the oven.
He explained thus: "I was at home last night, the parents were out..." "Why didn't you invite me over?" I butted in with a scorn look at him. "They were only out for like 2 hours. Would have been pointless to come really." I sighed and ushered him to carry on his story. "Yeah, well. I was at home and I had a zoot in my garden with tea. I came inside feeling pretty buzzing and lay down on sofa infront of the tv", he looked over at the clock, "and I noticed my mum's book she's reading. So, I thought, would weed make reading better?" I pondered about this, "Haven't you ever read a book while lean?", I asked SWIM. "No" he replied with a somewhat shameful taste. I suppose being lean could make reading better. Maybe your imagination is more free and lucid. SWIM tells me that he is going to read 'The Shadow of the Wind' tonight to try it out. ![]() |

I don't know about you guys, but I would rather have a audiobook because I would not have the attention span for reading when high.

It would also largely depend on the ones own ability to concentrate that would really be the determining factor.
SWIM for example has a very good ability to focus and concentrate even when stoned out of SWIM’s own gored. |

swim preferes to lie down and relax... reading would be too hard.....
music or audiobooks are better..... if you want to find deep meaning, try looking at a painting by "Kandinsky" whilest lean ..... maybe he was on drugs aswell! x |

I do MOST of my book reading while "medicated."
Marijuana improves my concentration. Most of my reading is intense stuff (and Non-Fiction). When I read, I try to "become" the author. Then, I am just re-reading the material (that "I" wrote). For my non-book reading (including the Forum), I am usually straight. But, even when blasted pretty good (or Trippin'), I can read what I want to (and write what I want to). |

Audio hypnosis is nice to listen to, when you're high.

Reading is cool when you're high. You're more relaxed, makes it easier to get into the book. Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy is pretty cool if you're high.

I met up with SWIM again today. I needed him to bring over his mixing bowl, as my brother was using mine as a war helmet. We began making the mixture for our cookies...
"I tried book 'weeding' last night," SWIM chuckled as he licked dough off his finger, "I found it easier to read and 'involve' myself in the story. The problem was, I had difficulties maintaining concentration." I stopped mixing and looked over at SWIM, "isn't it easier to concentrate on weed?", I asked before returning to the dough. "Well," he continued, "I believe it was because of the extreme comfort of my bed and the time being 2am that caused my lack of concentration." We both laughed loudly as we continued our baking. |

When SWIM reads while high, he thoroughly enjoys the book but generally goes at the speed of one sentence per minute, having to re-read the first part of the sentence many times before his brain can extract a meaning from it. Then he spends 5 minutes thinking about how well-written that sentence was and the author of the book is now a God in his mind.
