LSD in the winter

Greetings from Canada eh!

Does anyone know a SWIM who has tripped in the wintertime? SWIM tried it a couple of years and found it a very depressing trip. The reflections on the snow and ice were amazing, but it seemed that the cold affected him much worse when on acid. It felt like he had titsicles. SWIM is going ice fishing this weekend and was thinking about trying a trip in the winter, but he'd like to hear at least one good experience before hand.

SWIM has never done this but he likes to be very comftorable while he trips. So if SWIM was on the equator in 110 degree weather it would be preferable to have air contidioning. Also if its really cold SWIM would like to be inside with a heater. Dont get SWIM wrong, he would not avoid tripping while it was winter just make sure you have control of many variables such as heat and shelter. SWIM thinks it would be amazing to watch it snow but you really need to have a good place to chill also. Just dont get into a situation which would make your trip worse. Tripping enhances the sences so if you even if you are a bit cold it might make it worse. SWIM would not want to trip ouside in nature while it was snowing, but this is always a good idea in the summer when it is warm etc.

SWIM says do as you please but just use common sence. If you are going to be in freezing temperatures you might want a jacket and proper clothing, or just stay inside and light a fire and watch the beauty from within your own home. You could always venture out for a bit and just come in when you get too cold. You just need to be in a comftorable enviroment and it will be smooth saling.

SWIM could see the enviroment being a bit depressive because winter often symbolizes death and sorrow. It just depends what state of mind you are in but SWIM could see how this setting could make a tripping depressing. Just make sure your mindset is good before venturing into the trip. Why was your trip depressing? Did it have anything to do with your mind set, or just the overall setting? If it bothers you at all just close the blinds so you wont have to see the outside and light a fire. That seems like it might be a good setting. The fact that it is winter wont even have to cross your mind SWIM doesnt know anyone who has actually tripped in the winter under these conditions but this is just some advise swim wanted to give you. swim would look forward to such a trip, a lucky dude you are!

Good luck, peace.

O ya swim used to trip in the winter. He spent most of his time indoors mind you, because ya the cold can be a drag. But there was one time when it was snowing those big puffy snowflakes, and there was a break in the clouds and there was a full moon beaming down on swim and his friends. Looking up to the sky swim was sure he could hear the strange crystaline snowflakes as they melted down from the intensly bright moon. It was so quiet and crisp in the chilly air. Thats a nice memory.
Now swim likes acid and he likes ice fishing but he cant see the 2 being a good mix. If swim happens to be on a trip where hes stationary he at least likes a tv in front of him. But hey who knows until you try. Would help if you snagged lots of fish

SWIM tripped in winter. It's quite enjoyable. He stayed in most of the night but had a little stroll around in the light snow outside when peaking and everything looked amazing. He soon got cold though and crawled back into the apartment he was staying in.

Sounds good guys. Me thinks, SWIM was kidding himself a bit when he wrote he might not trip because its Winter SWIM has only been on a few journeys and just wanted some reassurances that this is a good idea .

The setting of this trip will be in a little 10x12 shack in the middle of a lake with SWIM's two best friends, with a TV that just gets enough reception to catch Hockey Night in Canada. THe fishing has been pretty bad this winter, which is why SWIM needs the LSD to occupy his time. Hopefully he will be able to record/remember enough of the trip to jusify a report for you guys.

Thanks for the replies SWIM is looking very forward to this trip, the next 2 days at work are going to be very loooooooonnnnng.

*edit*
IN answer to raven3davis question

SWIMs last winter trip and only his second time doing LSD, was at a river before it had fully frozen and when he looked into the water through the ice he could see people trying to get out and the trip just went downhill from there. Tried to go sledding but the snow turned into concrete once up to speed and SWIM was afraid he was going to kill SWIMself if he fell off. Then his asshat friends he used to hang out with decided to throw snowballs at him and he thought they were grenades and then SWIM doesn't remember much until the morning. Which had a very nice sunrise one of the few pleasant memories of that trip.

Make sure you have some music and the shack is well heated. Happy tripping.

SWIM likes to trip in the winter, but I wouln't do it while ice fishing, or in any environment where you could not get back to a warm house in a short amount of time. Also a frozen lake is a hazardous environment and drugs shoudl not be taken in such places.

Swims first LSD experience was outside in the middle of a winter storm! I was 13 yrs old and had approval to sleep over my friends house and his older brother gave us some white blotter that blew my mind! His house was too cool when you were sobre.. on LSD, it was the perfect setting. A couple of time we went outside and played in the snow. I recal doing snow angels and looking directly into the sky as a mass of snow flakes dropped onto my face, laughing my ass off the whole time.

Bare in mind, this was some time ago.. Sonic the Hedgehog on SEGA was THE SHIT at this time.. I played sonic and saw the most wild trails..

Ahh, Never will forger that first trip.. the couple hundred in between are just a blur..

SWIM tripped in the winter just the other day. He and a friend ate a few tabs and went to the Museum of Natural History, and then later to the planetarium (amazing!). He also spent quite some time outside though. He was surprised to notice that the cold didnt bother him. He didnt even bother bringing his coat out. He could tell it was cold, but it didnt make him uncomfortable like it normally would have.

Just remember, try not to trip with friends like this. You really need friends that are going to be understanding and try to help you out when things turn sour, not annoying idiots that are just going to make the situation worse for you because they likely derive pleasure from it.

Swim has found that mushrooms are better in the elements. He recently shroomed in his friends jeep during a blizzard and went driving down an old country road. Evertthing was covered in snow and the trees were making a sort of tunnel over the road with there snow heavy branches. We pulled out into some field (did some doughnuts) and SWiM got out to smoke a blunt. The cold did not affect him, the snow and scenery actually looked more like a movie set. It was probably the best environment he's ever tripped in.

i know this thread is about LSD but if your worried about the elements but still want a haluucinogenic trip, maybe think about shrooms instead. Either way good luck and habve fun!

As for the trip it went amazingly well. SWIM caught a fish while tripping (the only one caught on the entire trip) and was too loved up in the moment to kill it so back down the hole it went. Bundled up and took an old sleeping bag outside and just lay in the snow that was about a foot deep staring up at the stars and the mist from his breath was incredible. It feels like using words to describe it are an insult to how incredible it appeared to him. SWIM wishes sometimes he was more artistic so he could use other means to "describe" how it feels to others.

How do you explain what acid is like to someone that has never done it? Isn't there a beatles song with lyrics something like "Once you've seen beyond yourself/ how can you be the same"

Swim has tripped in the winter alot. Going sledding tripping was fun. But overall, swim does not like tripping in the cold for the most part though.

All of swims favorite trips were in nice weather, summer nights mostly until the sun came up. Weather makes the trip for sure.

As long as you are in the right mindset you will enjoy your trip.

If you do not like being outside in the winter then i would suggest not tripping outside in the winter.

SWIG recently tripped on 6mg of DOC and it was amazing. SWIG walked around the city for awhile and took in all the beautiful lights and beautiful people. The cold (and it was very cold that night) had very little effect on him because he was too preoccupied with all that was going on around him.

SWIG did have a place to go incase outside proved to not be as good as he expected.
So if you do plan on tripping in the winter make sure you are comfortable or have a comfortable place to go.

(btw even though SWIG took DOC he imagines it would not have been alot different had he taken LSD)
