help with scale

Sorry to bother with this question; I have lurked awhile and needed some help.

I imagined a hypothetical situation in which SWIM wanted to practice with RC's. Being responsible, this SWIM got an imaginary US-100XR scale. (d=0.02). If SWIM put some material on the scale that read .25, would that be 25 mg or 250 mg? Sorry but this imaginary person is n00bish.

Your scale measures in 20mg increments, I'm sorry to tell you but that's pretty much useless for research chemicals. Anything you weigh on this scale may be off by as much as 20mg or more. The hypothetical reading you mentioned would be 250mg (plus or minus 20mg or more).

Well, Novum, it sounds like Swim needs to get a different and better Imaginary Scale.

This is because if Swim is off by 20 MG on an average imaginary RC dose, he will have more than imaginary problems.

I had a 10-MG-sensitive Scale. It was (almost) as useless as Swim's. My 30 MG doses were somewhere between 20 and 40 MGs each; a whole Order-of-Magnitude of difference. Not enough RC is not much fun (and can be irritating). Too much RC can be too much fun. The right amount of RC is just great.

So, if Swim wants to find a new Imaginary Scale, there are several Threads about "good" ones. And Radiometer has conducted a long-time campaign: "Get a 2-MG-sensitive Scale." He convinced me. I got one. It is well-worth the peace-of-mind it gives me.

Ebay has good deals on scales used and new, check it out.

measuring rc´s on such unsensitive scales is nothing but stupid. just buy a mg scale - they dont cost that much. if you are able to order an pay some rc´s you also have to be able to buy such a scale; just check ebay...there a some really good scales under 100€...SWIM knows

this guy i know has got a 10mg scale and as far as i can tell it should be accurate at 100mg.

with a scale like you and this friend of mine has, using liquid measurement is the only way to go. Just invest 10 bucks on some cheap glass vials with caps, that way you can measure out correct doses and store them for access later

don't forget to use grain alcohol or moonshine if you're going to store the liquid for any period of time

2 mg accuracy is key. if you do not have an acceptably accurate milligram sensitive scale then please use liquid measurement with potent compounds. do not eyeball doses. its no fun when people die or get hurt and it only makes the gvt pass new legislation faster.
