Oral use - First time benzo use - Temazepam - General Advice, Dosage, etc..

hey guys..

i have been reading on this (sub-) forum for some time now, and this is my first post...
first of all, i have found this forum very helpful at getting some general knowledge on recreational use of benzos, and i'd like to say thanks in advance for taking the time to read or answer this..

SWIM is a male, 19 years old, and besides smoking weed he doesn't have experiences with any illegal drugs. actually SWIM is very curious concerning these kinda things, but SWIM restrained himself because he didn't feel ready at the time he had to make the decision.. anyways, as the title says, he has now decided to try out temazepam - he has never taken them or other benzos before, i.e. he was never prescribed 'em, he has not yet recreationally tried them, and he can't remember any operation where he received anything but local anaesthetics. therefore, he has absolutely no tolerance.

He has several questions now, the most important being: what dosage would you suggest?..
He has three 20mg capsules here, and he might be able
to obtain a few more. the point is: he wants to try them out to experience what they are like, but he doesn't plan on using them even occasionally afterwards. so, as this is supposed to be a single event, at least for now, he wants to get a nice right benzo feeling off of this. he doesn't want to be unsatisfied with the effects (i.e. thinking he took too little) and be tempted to do it again at a higher dosage, to "now get the real feeling" .. was this expressed comprehensibly? at the same time, of course, he doesn't want to "overdose". therefore, what dosage would you suggest for this purpose ? from the impressions he got from reading the existing posts on temazepam, he'd say maybe 40 or 60mg initially, and, if necessary, another 20 at tMax (~50 min. he thinks)?

besides that, do you have any general advice for me, e.g. how to spend the time, what to do or not to do when high, etc...?
of course i won't consume any other drugs, including alcohol, for safety and simply to not falsify the temazepam effects. maybe later that day i will smoke some weed ..

Well i recently had my first try at a bzp. Cant really remember its name but i took 1 whole pill from a box the dr. prescribed to a first time user, so i could imagine its not gonna be the strongest variety.
That one pill made me feel warm and fuzzy for about an hour while i was feeling really content. I was watching some TV show with great interest, when 1 hour into the experience it put me out in a deep sleep. I woke up in the middle of the night on the sofa with the TV still on feeling drousy and still very tired.
Ide say take 1 pill smoke some weed and enjoy the feeling, bzp's seem to be very potent for the first time user.

Im not experienced with temazepam but i am experienced with benzos, id say have 2 or 3 of the pills on hand. Take one wait about 30-45 mins if you still arent feeling much take another one ect. My advice would be to not do it at home sitting around or anywhere you will be inclined to fall asleep. You must stay active otherwise youll be knocked right out. benzos are alot of fun if you can stay awake for the effects. And a little weed thrown itno the mix is a great time, id say smoke a couple hours after you really start feeling the benzo, since you want to feel it unadulterated. Temazepam (Restoril), CIV, 7.5 mg X4 dosage blister package, no insert (what I have).
My experience with benzodiazepines is that restoril is a medium-level, medium-acting benzo. I have experience with valium, ativan, xanax, restoril, bromazepam and klonopin...I am not an expert, but have tried most of the benzos.
do not mix with alcohol or drive or operate heavy machinery before knowing how it will affect you.
Taking benzos with alcohol for the first time is foolish.
Try the 20 mg, W/O ALCOHOL, to establish a baseline effect, and work from there. 20 mg, with no tolernace, should produce noticeable effects...bee careful and bee safe.

Temazepam isn't one of the most potent benzodiazepines by any means, but it still packs a punch. There are three different dosages: 7.5mg, 15mg, and 30mg. I'm not sure that there is a 20mg dosage available, but anyway... 30mgs will give you a feel for the drug, without a doubt. According to the PDR, doses up to 45mg exhibit linear distributition and elimination. So a dose above 45mgs, say 60mgs, is a good recreational dosage. For intense myorelaxant effects, I go for 120mgs but this isn't for everyone.

benzenerings: where SWIM is from, temazepam comes in two strengths, 10 and 20 mg.

He now decided to take the 60mgs and see what it'll do .. considering that this is far below any toxic dosage, he should be allright..
He's not exactly sure about the exact time it's gonna happen, probably the weekend after next .. he'll try to post a detailed report asap..

start with 30 mg thats what is normaly prescribed for a first time user. be some where safe cause your just going to wanna chill. some ppl love it and other see nothing spec about it... for me its my favorite benzo. dont drink at first, now im not recommending that you mix pills and alch but swim's swim grabs a 6 pack takes 30 mg drinks a beer and takes the rest as the feeling hits or stops when he feels its too much. makes for a great and relaxing night.

Temazepam (also known as footballs) are prescribed to a few of SWIMS friends for sleep, and for the non tolerant one pill (SWIM is unsure of mgs, but she thinks she remembers them being 20mg) puts them to sleep, so SWIM thinks a first time recreational user should start with prescribed dose, no more, unless SWIY is wanting to fall asleep.

^^^ SWIJ thinks lostgurl has the right idea here. 20mg should give someSWIY an idea of the "flavour" of benzos without unwanted side effects. Certainly 60mg is too much for a benzo-naive individual, and is likely to result in oversedation (+/- anterograde amnesia and waking up to a trashed house with far fewer pills than SWIY started with and no idea how any of it happened)

SWIJ will also reiterate the potential dangers involved in mixing benzos with other downers: So steer clear of alcohol, opiates and similar.

@ Mr Charisma: Assuming the age SWIY has posted is SWIY's real one then SWIY should also consider that recommended starting doses for benzos in the over 65's is generally quoted as being 1/3 to 1/2 lower than for younger adults

My apologies SWIJATELKA, SWIM is actually 21 years of age and male which was of interest to me as it is the same as SWIC.D.Rose (who started the question)... I could not change it in the profile without contacting an administrator which seems to be too much hassle for me (especially considering it isn't for me!), my apologies.

Approximately 4 minutes ago, someone who definately is not me, just orally ingested 3x10mg temazepam tablets and they have 3 more of the same for about 45 minutes time, depending on their effects. I will keep a particularly close eye on them over this period.

Yeah, SWIM really has no idea what to expect and is hoping to make a trip report of some kind. They are not commonly a reporter or user but wish to make some contribution to the broader community in order to help minimize harm in others (thats what its all about!). It has been about 15 - 20 minutes now though and SWIM doesnt really feel any noticable effects... except maybe some light headedness starting. I will take SWIJ advice and revert to saving a copy in word and then pasting it in here tomorrow though after any required editing!

SWIM was gonna post this on another temazepam thread but saw that a mod had redirected that person to this link so SWIM will post it here.

30mg of temazepam will hit you quite hard if you have no tolerance for benzos. SWIM gets prescribed 30mg pills and oral is the best way SWIM has found to take them... SWIM dislikes insufflation due to the large amount of powder, and he believes most of the effect is still gotten by what drips down one's throat and into his stomach.

Temazepam has a VERY high bioavailability(very close to 100%, definitely 95+) and hit hard and quick, so just eat them... SWIM swears he can feel these things in less than 10 minutes sometimes(providing an empty stomach). SWIM has never tried subligual but they contain a lot of powder in one of those little capsules... On the bright side though it is almost completely tasteless.

Even after SWIM took them for awhile and became TOLERANT, he rarely exceeds 60mg... not that he couldn't or isn't tempted to sometimes, but then the script runs out just that much faster. 90mg would be nice after SWIM's tolerance is up, but if he sticks with 60mg he can get decent effects... Usually by the time 60mg would have lost its effect, SWIM's script runs out and he must wait until next month.

Occasionally SWIM will take dangerous amounts (which he won't state here... don't want someone to try repeating SWIMs stupidity). But yah, large quantities have disappeared... SWIM will wake up thinking it's not possible that he could have taken that many and still be alive, but many a search have turned up nada but empty pill bottles... sometimes a hole in the wall too.

They only prescribe 10 and 20mg tablets in the UK? I live in the UK and have been getting 30mg Restoril capsules. Never seen a temazepam TABLET in my life. And the dosages are 7.5, 15 and 30mg. Mind that's on a private prescription; maybe they give you these crazy generic things on the NHS. I'd prefer to stick to the brand-name stuff, thanks. I find that 30mg is OK but 60mg is the usual dose.

Temazepam IS available in the UK as tablets, and it is also available in 10 and 20mg. Since the majority of UK medics prescribe generically, it is far more likely that flamingos will come across these doses.

Thanks Jatelka- I have spoken to a friend who is prescribed temazepam on the NHS since I made that post, and he gets 10mg tablets.
