Ground or not Ground?

When you recieve your bud, do you prefer it grounded up for you or not?
SWIM prefers to grind it, with the satisfaction of using the grinder.

I prefer to keep it as bud. It stays fresher longer that way.

well said, seems that if you get it allready ground there could be things other than just marijuanna. I wouldnt buy it ground.

SWIM definitely prefers to receive the kill in buds and also keeps it that way unless he is smoking a bowl. SWIM doesnt normally use a grinder he just breaks up the killa with his hands. He also would not but pre ground weed. You just wouldnt be able to tell the quality as well in swims opinion. Just seems like a sketchy thing to grind the weed before giving it to someone.

Yeah, would never buy some ground up crap. Nobody has ever tried to sell me weed like that, but if they did, I would throw it back at them.

I remember back in the day, I went on a joint craze. Would only smoke joints, with my own weed I would. So would buy a quarter or so, sit down and get the whole sack prepared so I would be able to quickly roll a joint at any time.

Now I just leave as buds and mostly smoke bowl to be honest. Or blunts if the weed is abundant at that time and with friends. Have many bills these days, so try to conserve and mainly bowls. I keep it sealed in a jar too. Since, dont smoke as much as I used to. An 1/8 could last me close to 2 weeks. So jar keeps it nice. Grinding it up before packing a bowl is the best though since you get the best hits that way. Just breaking it up a little in a bowl is ok too. Would never just place a bud in a bowl, doesnt hit right.

swim doesnt buy it ground up because it is easier for who swim is buying it from to add a little parsley or catnip, etc. to make it go further on their part.

I second that. This thread kinda boggles me though. What I mean is do that many dealers really offer pre-ground bud? In more than 15 years of being around cannibis swim has yet to met a dealer that said "will that be ground or un-ground today?" lol i guess some guys would make the extra effort, but most dealers swim knows think just weighing it out is a pain in the ass. And swim lives in a rural area so anybody outside of high school students who even thinks about selling catnip or whatever in place of weed is looking for a serious ass-kicking!

well, nice repsonses. Looks like everyone prefers their fix in bud form (as do I). I ask because ISWIM recieved an 1/8th and half of it was bud and half was grounded up (not fully, may I add). SWIM accidently left mytheir grinder at home (they are currently at Uni) so SWIM found the pre-grounded stuff useful. However, I agree that there are risks of cat-nip being added etc although I am 99% certain the weed SWIM get's is pure.

Only lousy dealers will give someone a bag of pre-ground weed. It's usually to make the baggie appear fuller to some novice who doesn't have scales or can't estimate the weight they're supposed to be getting.

Also when grounded they can lace it with sth. It would smell like weed, but you wouldn't guess. Sth similar happened to me (in my dreams). Never buy anything that is well packaged. It took me half an hour to see it was bulshit. And I couldn't find the people I bought it from. It was a terrible dream, that I don't wosh to anyone.

Are you sure they grinded it up? Perhaps, especially since it was half and half and not 'fully' grinded as you said... perhaps it was "shake." you know, the shake at the bottom of a big bag. When you get to the bottom of a lb bad, somebody's gonna get some shake... cause it's still bud, just broken off little pieces from being at the bottom of a huge bag.

Other than that, I dont understand why anybody would take the extra effort to grind up weed before they sell it. It's takes extra time and effort, it also takes weight away (by taking the stem out before grinding up.)

Ya here what Pinkavvy is reffering too is called "bottom bag" whereas shake is the trimmings from bud. Anyway SWIM has found bottom bag is quite potent sometimes since most of what falls off is crystal and red hairs. Also most dealers will hook up a little fatter since it's bottom bag (at least they will if you have a good dealer). You can tell the difference between bottom bag and ground up bud though.
