Ok, this first test was a real low dose just to get started but ...
SWIM took 5 tablets, crushed them up to powder
mixed into half a cup of cold water then filtered through a coffee filter and drank the result.
Now after about 20 mins he said he felt a definate slight buzz.
Its not as strong as a good cup of Opium tea but he says think by doing about 10 tabs you could actually get quite a strong feeling of warmth from it.
Nurofen Plus = 12.5mg of Codeine + a whole heap of Ibuprofen and other misc. rubbish.

OK... The "whole heap of Ibuprofen in 10 tabs" would be 2000mg (SWIM always thought max Ibuprofen dose was 1200mg/24 hours but RXlist says it's 3200mg)

Ibuprofen OD:

Symptoms: unsteadiness, tinnitus, blurred vision, nausea and/or vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, possible gastrointestinal bleeding, headache, agitation, confusion, drowsiness and coma.

Treatment includes activated charcoal (within 1 hour) and general supportive measures including iv fluids.

NSAIDs can also cause serious blistering or peeling skin reactions (eg Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, exfoliative dermatitis).

Granted, SWIY may not get any of the above symptoms but is it really worth it?

Just out of interest the other ingredients ingested include: Microcrystalline cellulose, sodium starch glycollate, pregelatinised starch, hypromellose, titanium dioxide (E171), talc.

Doesn't sound particularly appetising.

Nurufen Plus tablets can actually be split down the side into to halfs one of which contains ibuprofen and one just codeine. The N+ side has the codeine.

Well hopefully SWIM removed the rubbish with CWE.
What the real question though is, is Codeine really worth it ?

Codeine's good but 5 tablets of Neurofen Plus will only give a slight buzz. I usually go for between 100mg-150mg when I use codeine (about 10 tablets or so).

yea, I think SWIM deduced as much.

As for the half of the tab being the codeine half, it doesnt really look that way.

No it true, if you split the tabs and taste each side one side has the bitter codeine taste and the other side has a different taste and consistency also if you dissolve each side in water the ibuprofen side turns into a thick gunk while the codeine side is different. SWIM thought this was bullshit when he first heard it too but if it didn't work SWIM would have no stomach left. Do a google search there is info about this out there.
Edit: The information I gave in this post is now outdated. Nurofen+ can no longer be split. Please use a cold water extraction.

I just read that they used to be slittable but are not being produced in that way now. not worth chancing it. CWE only takes a few minutes really, its not like the tabs are expensive

Well SWIM did 10 N+ last night and had a mild experience. He did, however, wake up with a blinding headache as did his Mrs. They havent been drinking for a few weeks so put it down to either Codeine or the Ibuprophen that was left in the CWE solution.

Conclusion: Try and find a better opiate to take next time. There are no free lunches

SWIM has experienced headache the next day from codeine but also from lots of other opiates.

SWIM finds dosages of 250mgs+ to be the best, but no higher than 320mg otherwise he gets a bit too itchy. He has tolerance though so this dosage isn't good for everyone. Actually he only assumes he has tolerance, even though he doesn't use opiates often. He just doesn't see anyone else needing this dose, he has actually sort of nodded out on doses of 300mgs or so. SWIY has a good dosage there for first time though, SWIM started around there.

Good to see someone who uses CWE! Your stupid not to.

Just to update you on this, did this a couple more times and my liver is aching a bit (at least I think it is), so obviously my CWE aint that good at removing the nasties.

SWIM was trying to extract the codeine, unfortunately there must have been ibuprofen still in the liquid after the CWE. Either the CWE was badly done or some of the nasties are also dissolved in water.

No you are correct AFAIK, but there is in most other countries.

I've done this myself and although I used too much heat to evapourate the water at the end, the product was still effective giving me a nice little buzz. If I were in the US I wouldn't bother because of the cost and risks of importing but over in the UK it's cheap and available.

In australia codeine is over the counter, Nurofen plus was the strongest with 12.8mg. Now panadol has released one with 15mg (+500mg Acetaminophen).

It is true that the tablets were ONCE able to be split in half with the top side containing just codeine and filler. However as people were abusing this the pills are now equally mixed, In some Pharmacies you can still get the older version. Has a different package and a batch number i cant remember.

Define " Over the Counter " - if you mean "go in & grab it off the shelf" then you're correct. If you mean "can get at your pharmacy w/out a 'script" then you're wrong. Some states allow it to be dispensed at the pharmacist's discretion - mostly as cough syrup, tho occassionally as suppositories for diarheea...the latter are actually opium, iirc.

you used to be able to get a Kaolin (sic?) & Morphine suspension (in a bottle for oral administration) here in uk, this was for dhioreah, but I aint seen it for years and if you ask for it the pharmacist ususally gives you a look of "I know what you want that for" even though the morphine levels was very small. Our grand parents used to swear by it.
