There is one thing I find very interesting with smoking 5meo-dmt, my dog always has black and white visuals (with grey spectrum). This also sometimes happens with high dosages of LSD. When he tries to open his eyes on a meo-dmt peak it looks like he is looking under water, everything is blurry and unrecognizable so there is no point to keep them open.
Why this is so strange to me is that he's a very visual dog. He always has the richest and most colourful visuals of all of his psychonaut friends and they are almost always experimenting with the same dosages per trip. But somehow he gets to gave black and white fractals and universes split before him but without the richness of colors. I wonder does anybody have the same thing happening and why do you think this occurs since I read than some colour-blind people experience colors on psychedelics. Is this some opposite effect? |

5meo-dmt for many is not visual. Certainly has minimal visual component per SWIMs many, many experiences. This can change if smoked during the peak of another visual substance, but not by itself. SWIM feels that DMT is the visual sibling of 5MEODMT, which is much more somatic and tactile in its effects.
SWIM will never forget the first experience with this one - felt like wearing a whole body hairshirt on the inside of your skin. Took quite a few tries to learn to use/like it. Snapper |

hi snapper,
my dog is planning to prepare some Ayahuasca brews (or even some DMT extraction) this spring to see the difference. but I was referring to the CEVs, when all the colors disappear in his mind and only black and white remain for the whole duration of the 5-meo-dmt experience. and yes, it takes few times to get used to 5-meo-dmt, it really is a special, and when you get to know it, rewarding substance. |

5-Meo-DMT definitely takes some getting used to, tho once SWIM had adjusted to it, it was like coming home. When SWIM first started with it, the intense stimulant effects were overwhelming and distressing. With time, SWIM found that he oftentimes didn't much notice the intense come up of it anymore, although the psychedelic qualities were as intense and undiminished as ever. Familiarity breeds comfort...

On it's own swim see no colors with 5-MeO-DMT. Alone, it produces an instant rush of pressure on his throat and head. Sometimes he feels very nauseous. Alone, 5-MeO-DMT to him seems useless. No visuals of anything, just a headbang for a few minutes. While in combo with 2c-b, 5-MeO-DMT brings out very colorful and shifting patterns. The 2c-b has lots of color with it and patterning, but when smoked 5-MeO-DMT hits it's a great feeling. No nausea, no feeling of emptyness. The visuals are great and it seems to last longer than 5 minutes. The patterns are different than those of 2c-b alone. Great combo swim says.

Ro be honest, all of the 5-methoxy trptamines seem to be the poor cousins of the unsubstitutred & 4-sybstituted tryptamines when it comes to colour generation in either OEV or CEV. Whereas AMT produces a sort of mild LSD type visual effect, 5-methoxyAMT tends to just produce a 'dirty smearing' of colour in comparison (and that's without starting in on the somatic effects of the 5-methoxy compounds!)

If you want to have a visual experience, DMT is probably the most visonary experience that is in the same family of tryptamines. It is like saying I want to taste vanilla when I bite into chocolate!

SWIM has much visuals on 5-Meo-DMT even on low doses while all of SWIMs friends don't have any visuals at low doses but light visuals at high doses.

swim has actualy had an astral journey on 5-meo-dmt, fully OEV, he took a dive into his mind for what he said was 3 -4 hours, there were other people watching as swim layed on the floor in fetal position for 20 minutes, though i believe swim smoked a very high dosage(upwards of 40 mg maybe more)/ this was swim's 9th trip on 5meo-dmt, and was the one that changed his veiw about this reality or the next he isn't sure which yet

swim has seen someone partake of a 32 mg dose of 5-meo-dmt that resulted in a very bad reaction. this is not something i would reccomend as from what swim told me about that and what is in tihkal it seems pretty likely an OD of this could kill you. also 5-meo-dmt is evil so to answer the original question about the lack of color... that is why... it is evil.
edit: after rereading that post it seems as though the person in question likely eyeballed that 40mg dose. if you do that again you shouldnt expect anything good to happen. unless you want to die. then that makes perfect sense.
