Tripping Sober: Hallucinogen Persisting Perception Disorder (HPPD)
Has n e 1 had or heard of this.
basically its were u do too many shrooms (like trippin 10 0r 12 times in 3 months) and end up f**ked in the head:literally triipin sober. it happened to a mate and i don't jus have to take his word for it, cos hes very obviously f**ked up. for instance, a group of will be sitting, listenin to music or smokin, and no one will be talkin, and he will jus be siitin there jerkin his lead around movin heis lips really fast, like hes talking realy fast on tv but the sounds been turned down. its f**king hilarious for us but must be scary as shit for him!!!!!!!!!!! mushrooms are poison and the more frequently you consume them the more ill effects you will experience. ive heard that excess trips can lead to scitzophrenia.

If underlying metal conditions are present, any drug can produce these effects. As with any drug, abuse=bad, lol.Psilocybin isalmost completelyexcreted from the system in 8 hrs. The LD50 is pretty much eating your body weight in mushrooms. I would be willing to bet mushrooms are not entirelythe cause. I believe its the combination of what was stated earlier. All the other drugs. |

I have only experienced flashbacks once, but they lasted for 4 days. When I was in college I took 1/8 of mushrooms and 4 hits of lsd at a rave. The trip went normal, like every other time I had done the same. A week later I was sitting in calculus and I suddenly got visuals. The mind buzz was not there, I could think clearly and was definitly NOT tripping, yet I had full color visuals, tracers, the whole works. It was scary at first, fun for a while, and annoying after a day or so. But it went away. It's been years since then, and no other negative effects noticed. ~KT |

i have also felt the same thing- about 2 years back i ate over an ounce in a weekend (don't ask me why, we had a shitload) and the week after i was laying in bed and it felt like I was tripping again, it lasted for about 2 weeks on and off, very strange. let's just say that i've limited my intake since then.

My shroom trips are far and few inbetween, but when I do eat em, I beng.My friends will slpit about 90shrooms (stems and all) blend em, split it and drink it.I know this sounds like a hippy, but.... I look at the shroom as a ticket, a ticket back home. And the entire time you journey to you home, you become enlightened at the end of your jouney. And when you return to word of the living robots, your come back refreshed and understanding a little more. I've read in a book that Psilocybin is not neurotoxic. Personally, I prefer shrooms over LSD. Also, I never heard of an O.D case over shrooms. Amanita Muscaria, I've seen my chums on em, and they eat quit a bit. But I quess it's your liver that gets effect the most huh? |

probably the most dangerous thing has to be mis identifeing and eating poisounes ones and there is lots of differnet kinds. but allways check on the net or in a book just to make sure you have what you think you have.

I've had a few hallucinations come back to me over the years. Like the
little dots of light I see every once in a while. I think most of them come from the lsd or the peyote I had taken. The worst one I had was for a period of about 4 months when everything I'll eat tasted like peyote with inciense. Not a nice thing! The good part is that since everything tasted the same I only ate healthy food, vegetables and such, for that period of time and lost a lot of unwanted weight! ![]() |

Hallucinogen Persisting Perception Disorder?
http://www.erowid.org/psychoactives/...d/hppd_faq.sht ml I have some problems with this (especially with tracers, dark room "static", patterning, and trouble reading text). Annoying as hell too. It's supposed to be fairly uncommon to get it from mushrooms though; apparently more people get it from acid than anything else. Last edited by Phungushead; 17-12-2005 at 09:47. I know someone who apparently starts feeling "fucked up" and sometimes passes out if pressure is put on his spine. He's done a lot of shrooms and acid. I've never seen it happen, though... there's a good chance it's bullshit.

Hallucinogen Persisting Perception Disorder
count me in. I get a lot of "mescal static" when I close my eyes, or even when I look at any bright coloured surface. Sometimes the static takes shape... quite nice. Last edited by Phungushead; 15-07-2009 at 07:36. Reason: removed coding |

I have a bit of an HPPD case as well. It seems to change every drug I
try, I've noticed that when I try a new drug my sober hallucinations often take on the characteristics of the drug I have just tried. I don't consider it negative at all. It never gets in the way or causes any complications whatsoever. I find it quite enjoyable being able to be mildly tripping constantly. |

well, normally, after some time away from any hallucinogens or the
like, i don't have many issues with tripping when i haven't ingested any drugs, but sometimes, if i go on a binge so to speak, like doing LSA couple days in a row, then mushrooms couple days, i'll still feel different for a couple days after, but after that, i don't notice much difference from normal every day life. |

your perception of the world is dictated by your conscience or subconscience mind.
nothing is true but everything is possible.HPPD is known by choas magicians as your template for creation. lol |

i belive that most people are more or less constantly hallucinating
anyway. when you take drugs like mushrooms or acid, so see some possible options as to how the world (reality) could be. there are an infinity of possibiltys. im an experienced drugs user, and i see things that are not there from time to time when im compleatly sober. this does not disturb me. i think if you are really worried you should go to a doctor but its probably no big deal. |

A lot of people consider HPPD and flashbacks to be the same thing, but
basically the difference is that HPPD is an ongoing thing while flashbacks are experienced in isolated events. HPPD is also primarily visual, with no emotional/mental effects that flashbacks can have. Flashbacks don't always come from bad trips... they are, however, considered a symptom of post traumatic stress disorder and can also be caused by non-drug experiences. I've heard of this happening to many many people (and it's happened to
SWIM) after using 2c-i. Many report that after using 2c-i coffee seems to trigger visuals. I don't think its HPPD related but more of a common trend in 2c-i use because it usually passes within a couple months. Peace, Jesse |

Post Magic Mushroom Trip Hallucinations?
Does anyone else notice random colors that appear in their perihperal while completely sober? It's been more than two months since SWIM's last trip, but recently, SWIM has been noticing this odd phenomenon occuring with a greater frequency. These colors aren't the same as those that you see when you close your eyes. They are very tangible and appear to actually exist as matter rather than light. SWIM has told me that the colors will remain in his vision until he shifts his eyes, in which they immediately disappear. It happens two to three times a day and it leaves SWIM a bit concerned. In no way does it affect SWIM's day to day life besides posing a mild annoyance, so it wouldn't be the end of the world if it was permanent. SWIM was just curious if anyone else experiences these "colors" as well.

Re: Post Trip Hallucinations?
SWIM believes he understands what you mean. A rather subtle altering of visual perception, possibly brought on by bright lighting. Perhaps it's a symptom of HPPD.
It isn't highly unusual to experience things such as this after using hallucinogens. It may be serious if it begins to get worse. More than likely it will probably fade away granted you stay off psychedelics. |
