Seemingly anomalous experience

SWIM would consider himself at least slightly versed in psychedelic experiences having done mescaline, LSD, and psilocybin containing mushrooms (seemingly the usual) several times each. After finding this forum and indulging in a fair volume of experience reports he cannot help but note the difference between his experiences and everyone else’s. Strangely every time SWIM “doses up” on psychedelics (there seems to be a set point with all of them bar mescaline) he enters the exact same state regardless of the substance, even marijuana.
He enters into a severely philosophical trip dominated by his studies in cosmology, philosophy, and quantum mechanics that always seems to reach the same and terrifying state involving thoughts that don’t quite translate to “baseline” thoughts leaving only an eerie shell for him to munch on when he is coherent again. He notices that with most people they take, say four grams of Psilocybe cubensis, and enter a world of heavy visualizations that is variant depending on the setting and social environment but where they are still, at least in some cases, able to interact with other and themselves. He notices an almost invariant ability for people to stomach many hits of acid and still interact with the environment to a point (in contrast to his 2 hit=mindfuck dilemma). Initially this was fantastic. A deep philosophical experience that left him contemplating non-linear existence, who could ask for more right? However there seems to be no middle ground. At, for example, 2 grams of shrooms he experiences a mild “trippy” experience (body load, environmental connectivity, ect.) with CEVs and OEVs (both to a somewhat minor extent). Then with 2.5 grams he is shot into this same daunting world of ego dissolution and some pernicious entity that evades him in sober though; he is left with only fragments of his experience that, although numerous enough to fill volumes, hardly form a coherent picture of what he knows is there.
Even with marijuana he is somewhat sensitive (for reference he has done psychedelics far more than weed so he is not an experienced “stoner”). With only “shwag”(or however you spell it) he needs smoke one bowl out of a small pipe to experience full visual hallucinations (granted, more detached, foggy, and unreal than the psychedelics) and strange mental anomalies that seem unusual at that dosage. With more he reaches, although only partially this time, that same philosophical introspective prison, unable to escape for the duration of the drug’s action.
Only mescaline is “safe” in his mind allowing him to evade the rigors of mindfuckage seemingly no matter the dose (however when paired with even small amounts of marijuana it is stronger than anything the other two seem capable of).
The question then would be: is this, as it seems, so anomalous? Is there any way to transcend the deafening voice of his mind or is he destined to fear each hit of unknown potency because it might be more potent than his set point forever (not than I’m complaining, any acid is good acid)? And finally, is it uncommon to experience tripping on marijuana in such low doses?

I am at almost the same way with the visuals as you are. I can get them whenever I want but I want to think then about those philosphical things and never wanna look at them. When I get stoned things stop to be like this. I immediately turn back from my abstract world to reality. But, oh my God, what is that reality. With weed things in reality get to speed up their changing a little longer and you can no longer concentrate on your thoughts.

And oh do I ever wish that was the case. It seems that, for me at least, even with marijuana pasted over another drug or alone I can’t help but turn inward. Perhaps I’m just physiologically and psychologically destine to never experience a true outwardly directed trip. I guess it could definitely be worse…
