Wierd Tolerence

Hey, I used a large amount of my Adderall to cram for some important tests and projects.
However for some reason no matter how much Adderall I take I don't get a body high. I still get a mental high at the normal dosage but, I do have to take slightly more, like 40mgs as opposed to just 20 or 30mgs. This is because my tolerance shot up from the 2 or 3 nights that I was cramming. I still don't get however why I can no longer get a body high. I have had tolerance issues before but I always got a body high at the higher dosage that was needed. I'm guessing my dopamine is depleted or something?

To keep a level tolerance with amphetamines you really have to spread use out quite a bit. Your situation doesn't surprise me, when SWIM uses 2 days in a row (in the past) the second day he must take double to acheive the same high. He uses only once a week or less, using daily will make your tolerance skyrocket. He also knows what you mean about the body high, he only gets it if he hasn't used for a month or so at least.

Your dopamine and serotonin could be depleted, though I would be more concerned about serotonin. Serotonin levels can take 1-2 weeks to replenish whereas dopamine is only 1-2 days, or so I read.

SWIM never got anything but clear-headedness from Adderall. He said he even mainlined 16 20mg tablets in a 24 hr period. It kept him alert, but no special happy feelings.

Hey I've stayed off amphetamines for about a week now. Damn, I think I went though some kind of withdrawal the first like 2 days. I really felt like shit and nearly slept though both days. Anyway I'm not really sure if I should do more now because I don't want to do it and still not get a body high. Is a week long enough to wait I know you said a month but I don't think I need to wait that long, is it just wishful thinking?

Well Swim went ahead and did it (man this forum is dead, most forums get a reply in a few hrs), Swim snorted about 30 mgs, 20 mgs all at once and then 10mgs later. Swim did get a good body high this time, however it was slightly weaker then Swim is used to for that dosage.

This means Swim is going to stay completely off Amphetamines for about a week and a half. Except for like 20 or 30 mgs early in the morning so Swim can wake up (Swim doubts he will get that much sleep tonight). Anyway, Swim's tolerance is still a little too high so, like Swim said he's gonna wait a little longer and see if he returns to normal.

Obvious? How is the average amount of time that it takes to get rid of an Amphetamine tolerence obvious? Maybe common knowledge to experienced users, but that’s sort of why Swim was asking. Also Swim did search on these boards and google for Amphetamine tolerance so, he could get more info on why he wasn't getting any body high yet still got a mental one.

However it's Obvious google is useless for a complex question and no other questions had been asked in this forum that were quite like Swim's. If you can show Swim a thread exactly like this one Swim would be happy to shut up and just read it. If such a thread exists it certainly escaped Swim.

You were correct, it defiantly sounds as if your dopamine is becomeing depleted. Adderall stimulants the central nervous system by increasing the amount of chemicals in the body, increasing the heart rate and blood pressure. By abusing adderall several time in a row, you have to know that you are also depleting the dopamine in your brain more and more each time. If you stoped for a week and started again, you'd feel both the body and mind high!
