TEK - That Richard Pryor shit: Using Naptha instead of Ether when making Crack?

Hypothetically speaking, if one were making some of that good ole freebase, like the old Richard Pryor shit... could he do the whole ammonia precipitation step, but then supplement Naphtha instead of Ether? I mean, it's still a non-polar solvent, so it should theoretically work the same right?

Hmmm...Does anyone know precisely what Richard P was doing? SWIM has only ever heard very vague descriptions.

Actually this might be the best place to ask the question; SWIM has heard that Richie was trying to get "supplementary" hits - is there a way of extracting the "resin" from a pipe when the last hit has technically been smoked? Apparently some of the best hits can be got this way - all answers welcome!

Yeah, he was making freebase but he didn't let the ether evaporate off of the finished product long enough, so when he tried to smoke it... POOF. Lit his ass up.

I looked at the freebase threads and couldnt find a difinitive answer, but from what i gathered it should be alright. Just my guess tho. Kinda fun rereading those oldies.
Richard Pryor had it bad man. Like Rick James bad. Last tidbit I heard the whole 'accident' was a suicide attempt. Pryor and James were two of the biggest famous crackheads. David Crosby got real snakey at the end as well.
