Concerta

I just recently happened upon about 600 mg of ritalin in the form of concerta. U most definately can have a nice time with the concerta but it is a bit more work than crushing a tab. I was just wondering if anyone has ne in depth info on the pill. some things im looking to find out is if the outside coating is the instant release segment? also Just want to verifty, if im not mistaken the brown half are excipients and can be broken off and thrown away. Also anyone have ne good less messy ways of extracting the methyl from the cap? razor blade etc.?

i have a question about concerta too.... a week or 2 ago i took 2 andthe next day was arrested and had to take a UA..... ihaent got the results back yet but is there amphetamine inh concerta?... hehe i sure hope not or else.... i guess ill let yal know how rehab was

^^^^there is no amphetamine in Concerta. It's Methylphenidate HCl.

"CONCERTA™ uses osmotic pressure to deliver methylphenidate HCl at a controlled rate. The system, which resembles a conventional tablet in appearance, comprises an osmotically active trilayer core surrounded by a semipermeable membrane with an immediate-release drug overcoat. The trilayer core is composed of two drug layers containing the drug and excipients, and a push layer containing osmotically active components. There is a precision-laser drilled orifice on the drug-layer end of the tablet. I dont know if you would like to snort concerta pills, I'd go with the oral route, using crushed tablets, since

uncrushed pills work for some 12 hours.

Concerta doesn't work as well as adderall and ritalin do because it's time release, meaning that small dosages are released to the brain periodically.

If you take a concerta, and cut it in half than take the two halves, then it works real well. Because it is made to stretch over about maybe 12 hours and if you crush it or cut it in half, it all comes at you at once.

I had 7 concerta and I wanted to seperate the Methylphenidate HCl from the capsule and other ingredients so that it wouldnt release the Methylphenidate HCl over a time period. I used the guide attached below to get the Methylphenidate HCl out of the concerta pill. However I am curious about a few things, firstly do the white or grey layers have any Methylphenidate HCl on them? Also after peeling away these layers do both the brown and white side's of the concerta pill contain Methylphenidate HCl or is just one and the other just for slowing the ingestion of it.

(This is a small guide of how I did it just because I want to know how others have differed from experiance.)

*Firstly get a knife preferably serated and cut either end of the concerta pill off as close to the edge as you can but still cutting off the rounded side so that it forms a cylinder.
*Secondly Hold the pill sideways so that you are holding the capsule not the sides you have just cut off and then make an incision down the capsule and then peel away the layers. There should be a white layer followed by a grey layer.
*The insides of the pill should look white and brown. If you want to snort it then put the inside of the pill inside a mortar and pestle or whatever grinding device you use and then grind it to a powder.
*You can also scratch the remaining Methylphenidate HCl from the sides of the concerta pill that you cut off before becuase there will be a small amount remaining in them.
