Demerol vs...

I have already searched the demerol threads, got useful info but not quite what i was looking for.

What other opioid is demerol comparable to in strength? SWIM has a chance of obtaining many for very cheap.

So far Ive seen its like oxycodone, but possibly a bit stronger, what do you think?

It's only really good in liquid form for injection. It's okay, probably comparable to oxy. You need at least 300mg orally for a good effect. You have to be careful with it though, it produces some long acting toxic metabolites that can accumulate and cause liver/kidney stress.

Meperidine (Demerol) is less reliably absorbed when taken orally than other opiates (hence why oral use not recommended). It has a short duration of action, so requires frequent dosing, but it's metabolites are longer lasting and can easily accumulate (causing drowsiness, myoclonic jerks, confusion and hallucinations). One of the metabolites Normepeidine can cause seizures.

Equianalgesic doses are generally accepted as: 300mg Meperidine (po) = 30mg morphine = 15mg oxycodone.

Ahhh, thats wierd I know someone who popped 300 mgs before and was very very fucked up for about 4 hours, he was more messed up than i have seen ppl who are on 40 mgs oxy, taken orally both ways. This gave me the impression it had quite strong effects.
