Demetrin, Centrax (Prazepam)
Hi all
![]() I wanted to know something more about these benzo's, so I decided to post my question here.. I have 10 pills of Demetrin 10mg., so I wanted to know: 1.What effects they have? 2.If somebody have some experience with it post in here. 3.Is Demetrin better the Diazepam? 4.Is it addictive? Note: I have never used any drug except alcohol.. |

Pulled this package insert off google:
http://home.intekom.com/pharm/pfizer/demetrin.html Recreationally I would imagine it has all the effects of any other benzo (which tend to vary between people). Although SWIM has never done demetrin benzo's in general make her feel euphoric, relaxed and blissful. It's a benzo: So yes it's addictive Better? In what sense. It's a long acting benzo, but half-life seems to be similar to diazepam. It also breaks down to the same active metabolite as diazepam (nordiazepam). I can't find any info on comparative strength compared to diazepam, but if it's a stonger benzo then some would view it as "better". SWIM would say that if your only drug experience so far is alcohol then a benzo might not be such a great idea: They feel wonderful, but it's very easy to take them frequently. And benzo dependance is a bitch. |

Centrax (prazepam)
Hey all. SWIM was researching benzos left and right and he and his doc are looking for the right one. Came upon a benzodiazepine callled Centrax, generic name prazepam, and was confuzzled to find that, while it has not been removed from the market in the US, it's almost impossible to find! I called a few local pharmacies and they all said the same thing: the doc can write a script, but good luck finding a pharmacy that still carries it!
Has this med simply fallen out of practice? Have newer and better meds been developed since? Was there an abuse issue before my time (like with quaaludes) and has since been withdrawn? Any information on this curious compound would be helpful, simply as a note of benzodiazepine posterity. |

Re: Demetrin (Prazepam)
Threads merged. See my post above for package insert.
Equivalent dose to 10mg diazepam is quoted as 10-20mg by Ashton. |
