Begginer help with poppy and Kratom....

SWIM wanted to try poppy and Kratom leaves. SWIM has tried doing some research before posting these questions, but couldn't find much help on extracting codiene from poppy and what exactly SWIM needs to buy or what SWIM WAS buying and what it would do.

#1----To get opium or codeine from poppy, does SWIM use it's leaves, pedals, or seeds----if you could use more than one, which is the cheapest/easiest/better experience, one?

#2----SWIM found a site offering "Kratom Standardized 10x Extract" for $55 for 25 grams.......does this mean that normally it would take SWIM 25 grams of Kratom leave to get a buzz or whatever you want to call it, that it would take SWIM only 2.5 grams b/c this was a 10x extract?

#3----This is SWIM's main concern: SWIM found a website offering "Kratom Resin Extract" it said below it this:

"Typically, 14 grams of Mitragyna speciosa was extracted into water in Thailand, and drank in one gulp as a tea, or made into a resinous ball, then swallowed. Our carefully crafted resin acetate contains about 7 grams of water extracted Kratom leaf in every gram. In theory, 2 grams would produce a mild effect, and 4 grams would produce a strong effect, but we offer this dried plant material as an herbarium specimen for the curious and it is not for human consumption. "

SWIM was going to order 24 grams for $44.99.....this site is well-trusted and known. What I wanted to know was this: Will 3 grams of that really make me feel it? If so that is cheap

#5---It does what codeine does basically, right?

I can answer a couple of your q's regarding kratom. 3g of resin will be more than enough for pretty strong effects, I've tried a tea made with just 2g of resin and felt great for hours, very sedated and comfortable. And yer I'm 10x extract simply means than 1g of extract is equivalent to 10g of kratom leaf.

Having tried codeine as well I would say it has similarities to kratom but is by no means the same. For a start I don't even think kratom is an opiate it just acts like one. I would say kratom is actually stronger than codeine and can also have stimulative affects which you won't get with codiene obviously.

I'm not sure if you are intending try both of these plants together or seperate but I can help you with your questions.

1. To obtain the active alkaloids in the poppy, one can use the poppy pods or the seeds. There are many varieties that do produce the desired alkaloids, but opium poppys are the desired variety. With poppy seeds, one can aquire a very large amount and boil them in water to extract the goodies. This tea can be drunk as is, but it is a very foul brew.

2. Those 10X extracts are largely reported to be weaker than advertised. I've heard people saying that the 10X is more like 3X or 4X at best. I do not trust them, especially for the price. Save your money for some good premium.

3. Resins are very hard to trust as well, as they're strength varies widely. 3 grams of crappy extract will not have much effect on me, but 3 grams of good extract can sometimes be to much. It is hard to say what 3 grams of extract will do to you, especially considering that I don't know what your tollerance level is towards opiates.

4. Yes, I have tried several varieties of resins. I do not prefer them, although they are easy to make on your own. I would recommend trying 3-5 grams of premium kratom leaf for any first time user. The tea is good for starters, although eating produces stronger and longer lasting effects.

5. The effects of kratom are very remenescent of opiates, although many people note more stimulation. Codeine is a very weak opiate though, the effects of kratom are stronger.
