Mushroom Hunting in California
i looked on the hunting threads but only north ca has shrooms specified but i am pissed because i used to go up to upper michigan to visit relatives and i remember me and my cousins actually found like 20 almntia muscara(definetly spelled wrong but they were fly agarics) i distintly remember the big red mushrooms with white spots and me and my cousins actually having a war by throwing them at each other and slapping each other with them (we were like 10 and 12 then)and at one point (we werent seriously gonna do it ) we were daring each and other to take a bite out of one of them.ahhh if only i had the knowledge i have now back then heh heh i used to be so innocent little did i know years after we had our war with the mushrooms i would be viewing them as a way to 'get high' lol but my question is are there any magic mushrooms in southern ca like in temecula or riverside area i plan to take pics of any mushrooms that i find and post them here but i am wondering what to look for

California (San Francisco to Oregon)
Psilocybe cyanescens Psilocybe pelliculosa Psilocybe semilanceata Kummer. Psilocybe stuntzii Gymnopilus aeruginosus Gymnopilus luteofolius possibly psilocybe cubensis, psilocybe caerulescens, or panaeolus varieties in more southern regions, and you can also cultivate cubensis or panaeolus cyanescens indoors or out, fairly easily... Southern California is not a good place to hunt wild psychoactives. Amanita muscaria and Amanita pantherina can be found their but they are very different in their effects from psilocybies. You might find Panaolus species in horse dung their, but don't get your hopes up.

It's very unlikely that you'll find anything psilocybin growing wild in
Southern California. You definitely won't find cubensis there (except maybe in someone's closet, hehe). Even finding an active pan down there would be pretty amazing. |
