gbl to ghb

Hi SWIM has just had a dream about converting gbl to ghb using 120ml gbl and 63g sodium hydroxide, using one of the synths found on this site.

Anyway the end product turned to a gooey white sludge, Swim is guessing this is the ghb powder. Swim then added some water to make it anout 1g per 3ml.

Swims question is the solution has no smell at all and the faintest hint of salty flavour and is very clear. But when swim looks at the solution closly it has a oily sort of substance floating around in it, is this normal ? unreacted gbl or anything ?

If your synth was ok and did the right way then it shouldnt smell. For sure it tatses damned salty and is not totally clear but has a very very little slightly bright yellow colour. And it didnt look like water, right many times it looks like there were a oily part in it (It looks like if you put some ethanol or heavy alcohol in pure water)!

yep thats exactly what its like, first time doing it so just wanted to check.

SWIM calculated to have it at 1g per 4ml took 6 ml and didnt really feel anything of note...

first time taking ghb SWIM thought SWIM would feel something.


from description seems like synth worked ok, maybe concentration is messed.

If you have a solid mass of GHB then figuring out the concentration is simple. First weigh the solid GHB. If you have 200g, for example, and you wish the concentration to be 1g/4ml, simply add water to the GHB until the total volume is 800ml. You do NOT add 800ml to the 200g.
