Purity - Golden Flakes on Mushrooms? (Vermiculite)

SWIM has a question that he can't seem to find the answer to. He just got these shrooms and they have what appear to be "Gold Flakes" all over them. Also one of the stims has a white clump of a powdery substance. Just wondering if maybe SWIM has gotten moldy shrooms.

From reading it seems this is an indication of potency but SWIM just want to make sure. Sorry for the noob question...just don't wanna get sick.

It's okay. The golden flakes are vermiculite, which is used as a substrate
material for growing. It is not a indicator of potency.

The white clump on the stem is just mycelium, which is the vegetative part
of the fungus (it's kind of like the mushroom's "roots"). The mushrooms
grow from it; sometimes it grows up their stems as well.

Ah, thanx. SWIM finaly got ahold of a friend that told him it was some sort of growing tool and as for the mycelium, I figured thats what it was but I didn't know that it would grow up the stems. SWIM finaly took them that night, a whole 7 grams and entered bliss. It was great. Thanx for the help )
