If the tablets work for what they are intended, then SWIY must have the enzyme and must have lost the codeine during all that waiting.

And why evaporate at all? What exactly makes codeine in powder form better or more efficient than the solution? It cannot be injected and snorting it is just a waste, since codeine still has to be converted into morphine by the liver enzymes, which leaves out any possibility of a rush. When taken in liquid form, codeine will make its presence known in mere 10-15 minutes anyway, even on a relatively empty stomach. And that is incredibly fast for oral administration.

Just how hard is it to swallow no more than a mouthful of bitter water? Apparently hard enough to justify waiting for days with the risk of losing codeine and in the end having to wonder whether the whole thing has not gone rotten anyway. And how disgusting is that powder now, compared to the initial clear, odourless solution? SWIM fails to see any logic behind this whole dreadful procedure.

SWIM likes the idea of powdered form. You could store it in a baggie or capsule and use it when it suits you rather than having a solution that will turn bad in a few days.

Well, I guess from that point of view it makes sense, but it would then have to be an extraction yielding no less than five good hits to balance out the cost, SWIM thinks. He happens to have a small vial for those 50mls he can comfortably carry around, so saving for a rainy day is not an issue for him. The solution obviously goes bad if one unreasonably schedules his rainy day for god knows when.

SWIM certainly shares the wish for powder codeine. But you get a crude product from a crude procedure. And keeping a bunch of glasses in the sun for weeks is hardly going to bring an improvement. The proof of which, SWIM thinks, is well supported by the very existence of this thread.

Swim totally agrees with point of view although having codeine capsules would be really, really nice.

Unfortunately it never works out and if it ever did, it would just be too much of a headache for it to be practical, which is, after all, the purpose of having capsules...

like.. if swim's heating it on swim's stovetop where should the dial be turned to?
