Smoking - How to smoke opium ?

Hi,
SWIM would like to know how he goes about smoking his harvested opium. Do you, or can you smoke it the same way as heroin is smoked? i.e. the tinfoil method ?

SWIM used the tinfoil method, follow the dragon?, before and it worked for me.

SWIM just puts a small bit on a spoon, put a straw in my mouth, and heated the opium ball until it started to smoke. Then removed it from heat and inhaled all the smoke. Same as he does with heroin.

this is a really bad idea!

use foil....
if it won't work take a plastic bottle and cut it in a half.
then take a metallic smoth surface and put your opium over there.
then take a really red-hot knife.
keep the half bottle with the left hand over the metallic surface, the knife with the right, gentle press the opium with the red-hot knife and breathe from the bottleneck.

get a metal thumbtack,put your ball of opium on the pin part of the thumbtack,set it on the edge of a table,have a glass ready,light the ball of opium on fire,put the cup over it,let the cup fill with smoke,then lift the very edge of the cup and inhale deeply....enjoy

does swiys opium go black and crispy when smoked?
swim is getting very little out of his, i think it dilated hi pupils though. he accidentally let it boil for a few minutes when extracting.

High or not, your pupils should definitely not be dilated.

Your extraction was too crude to be smoked.

Opium should really be vaporized not smoked. so 'chasing the dragon' or some related method will work. Smoking it in a joint is inefficient although not entirely ineffective.

Traditional opium pipes were actually a form of vaporizer.

Indirect heat is required. Light bulb or test tube vaporizors are said to work real well.

even if SWIY burns it as crudely as you can imagine, it will have SOME effect. That's why opium laced joints are so frequently recommended. However, for a more effective opium experience, SWIY doesn't want the O to ever come in contact with open flame. Vaporizers, tin foil, etc. In SWIMs understanding, a hookah involves direct flame, no?

one could use a charcoal, which isn't flame, but radiant heat from the ember. swim just got an idea, and is still thinking it out, and is kind of elaborating on anabolictrio's method. ok, relitivly new smoking method- cut the bottom out of a waterbottle, or how ever much smoke your lungs could handle, then seal the bottom with foil, drop the opium inside and cap it, stick the foil over a heatsource, let the opium cook, and once the bottle's milked, decap and inahale!

Maybe some. But why would you bubble morphine vapor through a something it will dissolve in? Seems wasteful, doesn't it?

swim tried his waterbottle method, and as long as you make thorough preparations, and some spare foil, it works fucking great! No smoke is wasted at all.

How about using Bongs? would it work to smoke it using a bong?

when smoking or vapourising the opium, should it be dried first?

also just a q about when scoring the pods, how many times a day can the be scored to leak out the opium? and over what period? til the flower dies or over a month? even if scored to buggery, can the pods from the dead flower still be used? and should the stems be discarded or ground down along with the pods?

SWIM always grinds up the stems

opium alkaloids are water soluble. Read: they dissolve in water. even bong water.
