Easiest Way to get into the Rave scene....

Whats up guys. I've been trying like hell to get involved into the scene and check out where some raves or events may be going on in my area (ny), even if I have to travel some. However I've come up short all my friends are into other things pretty much hippies. What the easist way to get into the scene and make some new friends??? Anyone got some suggestions.

hippies are a great way to get into the rave/festival scene. many hippy festivals have raves at them as one of the many partying events. you can also try searching for psy-trance and drum&base parties in your area. look for flyers at clubs that play dance techno music. look for flyers at headshops. it seems to be that swiu would have to keep a fairly sheltered social circle and social life to not find these events.

theres quite a few raves in philly and DC. you just have to find the right ppl and its easy to get into it quick

Go to a record store.

Search the internet for "raves [your geographical area]".

Find and post on one of the many huge "rave"-centric internet discussion boards (e.g.sfraves, nwraves, etc.).

Ask hip people you see on the street.

These are just a few ideas.

I dunno where in NY SWIY is, but there are a couple of raves in Toronto this weekend at the Fun Haus, Saturday and Sunday night. Don't know if I can post links or not, so search for 'em. Cheers

SWIM will PM you some links to Northeast rave events. Will provide you with some infolines. Once you go to one, take home the flyers that are usually handed out, scattered on the floor, or situated near the entrance or exit as they will lead you to the next event. There are several forums you should know of that are dedicated to furthering the rave scene. Check your PM box.

Your age says you're 25, so reckon you could still pass as a college student, go to a college campus and loook for someone who you'd think would be part of the rave scene. And while you're there you could pick up some college chicks if all else fails.

Listen to radiometer check ones phone book to find an electronic record shop they will most likely have fliers. Swib beleives there is an big event in central park nyc coming up very soon. Swib thinks these people help put on the music conference in Mamai. Check that out. They will many more fliers to other up coming events there. Go to An electronic music club. Most will have a flier table.
