salvia divinorum 5x extract questions

I am a first time salvia user and have just ordered what the site sais is "pure 5x extract added back onto fresh-dried Oaxacan Salvia Divinorum leaves". I have a very small glass pipe and your average bic lighter. I'm thinking of smoking 100 mg for my first try. If i draw the lighter into the pipe suck in hard and hold it in for 20 seconds and repeat should i be fine? i have read that you need a butane lighter and a water pipe but have also read that this is only true for the leaves and not the extract...can someone please clear this up for me?

You need 0.5 grams. A lighter will do, but will make it a bit harder.

.5 grams?! thats way more than the erowid dosage chart sais...and out of a lot of experience reports i read .1 grams did the trick just fine

Sorry, I ment .4 grams. That is still not anywhere near what erowid says, but the also mention that you should take 0.5 grams of normal leaves. Try to get any effect from that.


5X extract normally means 5 times as strong as normal leave. I recon 2 grams of normal leaves as one doseor .4 grams of 5X extract a normal dose. There are extracts around that have a different definition of 5X and are much stronger. Can anybody clarify their calculation?

i've read in various dosage charts that .25 grams of the extract enhanced leaves will give you a level 5 or even 6 and im looking for about level 3 or 4 so i figure .10 grams should do the trick...but seeing as you dont develop a tolerance for salvia it wouldnt hurt to start there and work my way up until i get my desired results...oh yea and do you think that a tiny glass pipe with a tiny little bowl will do to smoke salvia??

You got to experiment a little bit.


For me a littlle glass pipe with a litlle bowl is perfect for 10x, 5x and fortified leaves.


But for regular leaves, a'd like to use a bong.

ive heard many people saying bic lighters work fine if u hold the flame on the salvia the whole time,also people say water pipe because since most salvia u take a big hit and hold it in, some people cant do that unless the smoke goes through water so its less harsh.</BLOCKQUOTE>

Using a bic lighter will do as long as the flame is held on the leaf the entire time. However, a butane lighter, the one that has the torch flame is way better. I think you lose something with the smoke going thru water in a bong, but thats just my 02. With 20x, you do not need to inhale as much smoke, which makes it easier on the lungs.

heh thats funny...... I never did listen to that edvice before heh START SMALL heh funny, my first dxm trip was at 720 mg , first salvia trip1 hit 20x, first time getting stoned I used a hooka and for about 15-20mins never took a normal breath of are but a few times, first morning glory expeiriance 8.5 grams though thats not big (healvinly blue),
