I live in the U.S. (Indiana)…every 3 months I get 2 free bottles of 100 1mg Klonopins
(200 in all) sent to my doctor from Roche Pharmaceuticals through their Patient Assistance Program. http://www.rocheusa.com/programs/patientassist.asp It is all legal through my doctor.I have heard that it is illegal to carry a controlled substance without the pills being in a prescription bottle that has your name, doctor, etc…like they come from a pharmacy. The pills are just in bottles that identify the drug. My question is: If I got stopped by the police and they found the pills would they arrest me because I don’t have anything that proves that they are prescribed to me? I want to know because a like to stay legal. |

The doctor should write up a prescription on a peice of paper or a small printout or something, at least they do where i live. But i also get them in the bottles that also has all that info too so...

When I go in the the doctors office to pick-up my pills, the reseptionist at the window gives the meds to me without any prescription or paper that proves they are for me...nothing...just the meds.

I suggest you ask for written proof of prescription, i would assume they would give you something.

it is illegal to have any prescription pills that arent prescribed to you, and even when they are prescribed to u if u dont have them in the bottle its illegal. Id say it would be up to the cop at the time to say whether you get arrested or not, there are some asshole cops that will bust u for nething possible, then there are cool cops who are reasonable and if ur not posing danger to the public will let u off with a warning. Its happened to me both ways, i live in Maryland but im pretty sure the laws are very similar there.
if u dont wanna take the chance pop em al b4 the cop gets out of his car and up to urs. itll be fun i promise!! LOL |

I was under the impression he had a prescription, this was just a different method of obtaining them.

Going by the equivalency chart...
http://www.benzo.org.uk/manual/bzcha01.htm#4 ...taking 100mg of Klonopin would be like taking 2000mg of Valium (200 10mg blues) since the chart shows Klonopin at approx 20x more potent!!! |

wow i stand corrected, i had no idea klonopin was that powerful, but as i said earlier benzos are not something i have been to anxious to do nor can easily be obtained in my area. Therefore my reasearch on them has been limited.

if u were to be arrested ud be released in less than 24 hours, they may lock u up until the drugs have worn off like alcohol, then by the time court rolls around u will have ample opportunity to get proof from ur doc and get off. he might get in trouble tho, im not sure if the FDA likes bottles of drugs like these being given out with no labeling.
maybe hes doin ur shit under the table with those generic internet drugs!?!? |

yes, you will be arrested if you have klonopin in your possession, because it is a scheduled IV depressant. so that means you will be going to jail if you cant show him or her a valid prescription. not a copy

I may be wrong, too busy lookin for other info to find out for you, but I think it's ilegal to have them in the pharmacy type bottle like in the picture.
The pharmacies are given those kinda bottles that contain an ungodly amount of pills....then they are dispensed to the public in the smaller bottles by prescription to the public. You should do a search of the Indiana state Code of Laws to find out for sure to be safe. |

Littlegirl13 says: "I think it's ilegal to have them in the pharmacy type bottle like in the picture." Well, it is NOT illegal to do this. Years ago my Grandmother used to get her Nitroglycerin pills by the 1000 (mostly because it was 30% cheaper, they didn't need to be counted). They just handed her a 1000-pill bottle, with a little prescription label plastered on it.
I know people in the Patient Assistance Program. Depending on the particular Drug manufacturer, each 30-day bottle comes with a strange-looking prescription label. Your manufacturer has chosen to not do this. One thing you can do is, call the manufacurer, and ask if they CAN attach a label to one of them for you. In your case, Hyperspace, I have 2 thoughts. One, the only way you are receiving these pills is because: Your Doctor wrote a prescription for them, and mailed that prescription to the Drug Company. Just ask you Doctor to give you a photocopy of that prescription form. Two, better yet: When you are carrying some of these pills, bring a copy of the Patient Assistance Program letter, which says that you Qualify for the free medicine. What one of my friends does is: Pour some of the pills into an older Prescription bottle. Even if the Prescription is 2 years old, it shows that she has been prescribed them, and this deprives the cop of the Probable Cause he needs to arrest you. Most of the time, policemen are not too interested in Prescription drugs. I mean, you are not going to be flashing them around (or, I hope not). And, if you happen to get caught with a couple of them in your pocket, just don't panic. Smile. Say: "Oh yeah, these are my prescription." Even if you do a crime in the presence of a cop, he does not have to arrest you. He has discretion to let you go. If, when he talks to you, you are shaking, and talking incoherently, he will strongly suspect you have done something wrong. So, smile, and treat him like a friend (cops like that). |
