Favorite benzodiazepine POLL: Please Post Your Reasons Why

Just wanted to say hi to the ppl of this forum. I love benzos.. been
taking them for years. In the past 3 weeks I just got myself on a
valium prescription - i get 3 10mg diazepam pills every day (yes
I know im lucky ;P), not supervised or anything I can save them up or
sell them (but I dont want to, because I need them for my
nerves/anxiety etc) ..

I find nitrazepam (Mogadon) the best downer of the lot - everyone has
their opinion but if you've tried nitrazepam enough, you know what I
mean.

Ben.

Simple answer: It lasts longer and is more powerful! If anything, the
buzz is a bit better as well. I couldnt say how or why - but it is. It
potentiates the action of opiates more than diazepam... there is plenty
of reasons why i'd prefer mogadon than valium. A few people say they
dont like them as much - but thats only because theyve tried
vals/temazzies so many times and only nitrazepam once or twice. My
dream script would be: diazepam for daytime and nitrazepam for
nighttime (they are more sleepers than vals, but more or less the same
just last longer and are more potent).

I love Xanax. It's so warm and fuzzy, especially with a drink or two (but it can be too easy to go overboard and do some really stupid things). It can range from a nice, cozy relaxation to downright intoxication. Ativan is okay, but I think Xanax takes the cake in this one.

Serax (oxamepam) is my favorite. It's the most euphoric and least toxic to your liver. It's way underprescribed IMO. Most hmo's pick only a few drugs out of the vast variety available due to politics and money. Often not the best ones.

Xanax is my favorite, but it's a hellish nightmare if you get addicted (which I did once, almost 20 years ago). Probably wouldn't touch it again, it's just too pleasant and easy to rationalize "what the hell, why not pop another one" etc. This ain't like Oxycontin either... there's a good chance you could have a seizure or even die coming off a dependency.

The right amount of valium is great with some beers but i think xanax beats it overall if taken on its own.

Swim loves xanax. He's been taking it for years with no problems. Very small doses are needed. The freaking bottle says to take a 2mg bar 3x a day. Yeah freaking right. Swim only needs .5mg once or maybe twice a day not taken until evening. The other day swim popped a couple 10mg valium. He could barely stay awake and was groggy the whole next day. That stuff sucks because of it's extremely long half-life and half-life of it's metabolites. I can see it working well for someone who wants to be sedated all day long. But for someone who just wants to take the edge off in the evening instead of drinking a beer or two, xanax is way better. Swim wants to get a benzo with an even shorter half-life than xanax prescribed. Something in the hypnotic catagory like halcion or restoril. Speaking of halcion heard from a reputable source that the president takes it. Now that's gotta be some good stuff.

Swim takes rather temazepam, it works fast and not as long as valium(diazepam). So it will not build up in your body.

Swim would have to say he likes temazepam with a few drinks and a smoke best, He also likes xanax but has only tried it a few times. He would not say no to valium ether!

i prefer klonopin over most benzos. xanax makes me blackout and valium is a litle too soft, seems like klonopin fits right in between there.

SWIM would just like to make a suggestion to everyone who posted about Alprazolam, better known as Xanax, as there favorite benzodiazepine. SWIM enjoy's xanax just as much as everyone else, but for those who enjoy xanax and have never tried Temazepam, I highly suggest you give it a try! A good doseage would be anywhere from around 30mg - 90mg! 90mg. is quite a lot, SWIM wants to add, so if it's your first experience with Temazepam and you take a doseage around 90mg. be ready to be swept off your feet!

Reputation Comments on this post:

90mg temazepam as a first dose is crazy unless you've used other benzos. It will send you to sleep quickly. If mixed wit...

Definitely xanax for SWIM. valium just doesnt seem to have that kick to it. SWIM has taken 20mg valium and felt only a barely noticable relaxation. 2mg of xanax is perfect to just chill for a few hours and possibly mix with a blunt. Then SWIM will hit up taco bell and have him a nice little encherito (sp?) and maybe some nachos. Xanax makes eating so damn good along with drinking. Xanax munchies combined with ganja munchies rocks it.

SWIM has never tried rohypnol though but hear it is a very nice benzo. Shorter lasting like xanax.

Took the words right out of my mouth, Diazepam (valium) is my benzo of choice, SWIM could combine it with alchohol or nearly any other drug to get an enjoyable experience

xanax seems to be edging in front on the poll,it is very effective and has more than just sedating properties to it.it can be quite addictive like Valium and all other benzodiazapines,(edited becuae i was bs'ing there, but if you think about it there must be some gene or weekness that makes 1 more prone than another to becomming addicted no matter what the drug)-d/a-

SWIJ realises she forgot to explain her choice: Valium. For her it just seems the perfect benzo feeling (insulated, chilled, calm, sometimes with euphoria). Lorazepam always made her feel too sedated, with a thick head and hungover feeling the next day. Temazepam never quite seemed to get her to the place she needed to be.

I must say that Oxazepam takes the cake for me. I have tried Diazepam, Temazepam and Oxazepam.

Oxazepam gives me a nice drunken sway with a good euphoria and i often cant remember what happened the next day except that i enjoyed the experience very much! Goes down very nicely with a beer or two!!

Still experimenting with Diazepam and Temazepam from my recent scripts so i might change my mind later on

SWIM have to say lorazepam (ativan) is SWIMs favourite. It gives SWIM a nice cozy feeling without too much sedation.

SWIM doesn't like xanax one bit, just makes him drowsy and results in loss of memory.

Diazepam and nitrazepam just turns SWIM into a sloth. Apathy, strong sedation and long t½ does not make SWIM happy one tiny bit..
